November 13, 2013 Tim Mead 5717 Colby Avenue Everett, WA 98201 Re: Backwater Valve Installation at 5717 Colby Avenue Dear Mr. Mead: The City's contractor, Steve's Plumbing, inspected your plumbing and drainage on October 10, 2013 to determine if a backwater vaive is appropriate for your property. Their findings indicate that installing a backwater valve would be beneficial. Please review the enclosed report. Previously, you signed the Backwater Valve Authorization Form authorizing the Ciry to install a backwater valve at your property. Based on the inspection report, we are proceeding with the instailation. The City's contractor, Archer Construction, will be contacting you in late November to schedule the work, This will require some excavation on your property. The City will provide you on-site training on the operation and maintenance of the backwater valve. Maintenance of the valve and the plumbing, sewer, and dreinage on your property are your responsibility. The inspeclion identified additional site drainage and plumbing deficiencies in your private drainage and plumbing system, These include: • Private side sewer is flat in areas . Additional w�rk could be completed to seal exterior walls from groundwater intrusion These deficiencies are your responsibility to address, as you desire.
