BACKWATER VALVE AUTHORIZpT10N <br />Pertnission to ins�ecL The Ownur grants pennission ro the City and its contractor to <br />inspect the plumbing and drainage of the Owner's properly for the purpose of gathering <br />infonnation regarding whether a backwater valve should bc installed. The City and <br />Owner will cooperate to determinc a mutually agreeablc time for the inspcction. 'Chc <br />inspection is at the Cily's sole cost. <br />2. 13ackwater Valve. <br />A. Citv Review of InsQcction nnd Penuission to Inslall Rackweter Valve. The City <br />will review the results of thc inspection end will dete�mine whether n b;ckwater <br />vnlve should be installed. E3y signing this authorization, the Owner E;rants the <br />CiTy and its contractor permission to install the backwater valve if �he City <br />Jclennines thet a backwater valve should be installed. This installation is at thc <br />City's sole cosL <br />R. Other Devices. There may be other deviccs that provide as good as (or grcatcr) <br />prolection than n backwnter valve. By signing this authorization, the Owner <br />grants the City and its contractor permission to install the other device if the City <br />detcrtnines that it should be installed. This installation is at the City's sole cost. <br />Howcver, if the Owner desires installation oF the other device, but the City has <br />determined lo only install a backwatcr valve, then the Owner may install the other <br />device, and the City will reimburse the Owner up to the installation cost of the <br />backwater valvc. <br />C. futurc Maintenance. Upon installation, the backwaler valve or other devicc is the . <br />Owner's property. The Owncr is exclusively responsible to maintain il. <br />Other Kecommended Improvcmcnls. Aftcr the cotnpletion of thc inspection, tlie City <br />may pmvide the Owncr with a list of other recummended improvements to the property's <br />plumbing and drainagc systems.
