1 <br /> City of Everett 01 4500 - 1 <br /> ' 2022 Biosolids Removal and Disposal UT 3752-30 <br /> ' SECTION 01 4500 - QUALITY CONTROL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for quality <br /> assurance and quality control. <br /> B. Testing and inspecting services are required to verify compliance with <br /> requirements specified or indicated. These services do not relieve Contractor of <br /> ' responsibility for compliance with the Contract Document requirements. <br /> 1. Specified tests, inspections, and related actions do not limit Contractor's <br /> quality-control procedures that facilitate compliance with the Contract <br /> Document requirements. <br /> 2. Requirements for Contractor to provide quality-control services required by <br /> Engineer, City, or authorities having jurisdiction are not limited by provisions <br /> of this Section. <br /> C. Owner operates the Everett Environmental Laboratory (EEL), certified by the <br /> Washington State Department of Ecology for testing water and wastewater. <br /> Owner will employ EEL as its testing agency for biosolids quality assurance and <br /> quality control including, but not limited to: <br /> 1. Total solids testing on dewatered biosolids to determine Total Solids; <br /> 2. Total solids testing on dewatering equipment to determine Solids Capture <br /> Rate. <br /> iD. Owner is responsible for bearing costs of quality assurance and quality control <br /> testing if such testing is required by Owner. <br /> ' E. Contractor may request additional analyses at his or her own expense. <br /> 1. Contractor, at their expense, may request that the Owner complete <br /> additional analysis and testing. <br /> 2. Contractor may request additional testing to be completed at a third-party <br /> testing agency. Any such testing will be accomplished at Contractor's sole <br /> ' expense. Prior written authorization from Owner is required before hiring a <br /> third-party testing agency. <br /> 3. Any testing agency used must have current certification through <br /> ' Washington State Department of Ecology. Use of any agency other than <br /> that chosen by Owner must receive written pre-approval from Owner's <br /> ' Representative. <br /> F. In the event that sample results from a third-party testing agency and sample <br /> results from EEL differ by 5% TS or more, Contractor and Owner's <br /> 01 4500 - 1 QUALITY CONTROL <br /> 1 <br />
