March 30, 2022 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., <br /> March 30, 2022, by President Stonecipher. <br /> Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, <br /> Vogeli, Tuohy, Rhyne, Schwab, Zarlingo and President Stonecipher were present. <br /> Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Vogeli acknowledged the original <br /> inhabitants of this place, the sduhubs people and their successors, the Tulalip <br /> Tribes. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of March 23, 2022, were approved as printed. Council Members <br /> Fosse, Vogeli, and Tuohy abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin stated that the City is grieving the loss of fallen Officer Dan Rocha, <br /> who was tragically killed in the line of duty while protecting our community. She <br /> expressed her deepest condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him, <br /> including our police chief and the entire police team, who have lost a beloved co- <br /> worker and friend. Everyday our police officers bravely put themselves in harm's <br /> way to keep everyone of us safe. Our community is heartbroken and honors <br /> Officer Rocha's memory, legacy, and ultimate sacrifice in service to our city. <br /> Mayor Franklin stated the memorial service for Officer Dan Rocha will be held on <br /> Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Angel of the Winds Arena. The service <br /> will be open to the public. <br /> A memorial fund has been set up to honor Officer Rocha's memory, with <br /> donations going to support his family. She thanked Coastal Community Bank and <br /> Victim's Support Services for assisting the City in setting up this fund, and the <br /> community for the outpouring of support they have shown for Officer Rocha's <br /> family and our police team as they process this terrible tragedy.
