I <br /> Section 40 90 00 PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> PART 4 : PROGRAMMING I <br /> 4.01 PLC PROGRAMMING <br /> A. The Control Systems Integrator shall obtain the existing station PLC program 111 <br /> from the City to use as reference for the programming of the new PLC. The <br /> existing pumps operate at constant speed. These pumps will be converted to <br /> variable speed with the addition of the medium-voltage adjustable speed drives. <br /> 1. The Control Systems Integrator shall schedule and meet with the <br /> operations staff prior to programming to establish the programming <br /> parameters. Plan for a 4 hour meeting. <br /> B. Pumps shall be started and stopped sequentially. Pumps shall be programmed I <br /> to ramp up and down gradually so as not to create water hammer. <br /> C. Control Modes: Provide the following user selectable control modes. I <br /> 1. Pump Control Mode: Provide programming to operate a fixed quantity of <br /> pumps as selected by the operator or via the telemetry system. Pumps <br /> shall operate at a fixed speed (adjustable, initially set to 95% full speed). <br /> Operators will select the quantity of pumps required based on predicted <br /> user demand. <br /> 2. Flow Control Mode: Provide programming to operate the station to <br /> maintain a flow set point. Operators will input a set point based on <br /> predicted user demand.
