What are the surface preparation requirements of the existing concrete columns and beams for accepting the new shear wall concrete, i.e. paint removal, scarification, etc.? Also, the new shear walls are shown to go full height to 1 the concrete beams/roofline, are the existing windows to be removed and filled in with concrete where present? RESPONSE: EXISTING SURFACES COATINGS WILL NOT NEED TO BE111 REMOVED. SURFACES WILL NOT NEED TO BE ROUGHED PRIOR TO CONCRETE PLACEMENT. ALSO, THE WINDOWS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE. WE RECOMMEND THAT A LOST FORM BE USED TO PROTECT THE I WINDOWS. Q7. Yaskawa called with concerns about the Square D fused switchgear upstream I from their drives. They want the ability to trip the Square D switch remotely from the drive under certain conditions. Motor operated switches are included to do that, but don't show the control wiring between the drives and the switchgear. They were also concerned that the switch won't open fast enough. Yaskawa said " 2-3 cycles would be ideal." Square D responded that the switches open within 100ms maximum (that is 6 cycles at 60 Hz). Yaskawa responded that they would make that work. RESPONSE: CONTROL WIRING BETWEEN THE DRIVES AND SWITCHGEAR HAVE BEEN ADDED. SEE ATTACHED DRAWINGS E3, E6, AND Ell.
