• <br /> (g) Any building failing to have automatic or other <br /> fire alarm apparatus, or extinguishing equipment, <br /> sufficient to protect life and property from <br /> fire; <br /> (h) Any building having inadequate facilities for <br /> egress in case of fire or panic and having in- <br /> sufficient stairways, elevators, fire escapes or <br /> other means of communication. <br /> The following standards shall be followed in substance <br /> by the Fire Marshal in ordering repairs, corrections, <br /> vacation or demolition: <br /> (a) If the dangerous building or condition can reason- <br /> ably be repaired or corrected so that it no <br /> longer exists in violation of the terms of this <br /> ordinance, it shall so be ordered repaired or <br /> corrected. Otherwise it shall be ordered <br /> demolished. <br /> (b) If the dangerous building or condition is in <br /> such condition as to make it dangerous to health, <br /> morals, safety or general welfare of its <br /> occupants, it shall be ordered vacated. <br /> Section 3: That Section 1.06 of the Suggested Fire <br /> Prevention Code recommended by the National Board of Fire Under- <br /> ' writers, 1956 Edition, is amended to read as follows : <br /> Section 1.06. Fire Marshal Order -- Appeal -- <br /> Appeal Board. <br /> (a) The Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention, or <br /> someone acting under his direction, shall order all <br /> dangerous structures, buildings, places, conditions or <br /> materials to be removed, corrected, vacated or demolish- <br /> ed in such manner as shall be specific and set forth in <br /> an order, which shall be in substantially the follow- <br /> ing form: <br /> Fire Marshal Order <br /> City of Everett <br /> To : <br /> (Name of party to whom order <br /> is issued and description <br /> of premises or place by <br /> street address) <br /> You, and each of you, are hereby notified by <br /> the undersigned Fire Marshal that an inspection of <br /> the premises or place above described was made on <br /> the day of , 19 , at which time <br /> there was found upon said above described premises <br /> or place conditions particularly dangerous to the <br /> safety of persons and property and especially <br /> liable to fire or spread of fire.
