ORDINANCE NO. 1575 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 3572 of the City of Everett entitled: An Ordinance regulating and restricting the location and use of buildings and land within the City of Everett; limiting the heighth of buildings; pre- scribing building lines and size of yard and other open spaces; providing for the division of the city into use zones; creating a Board of Adjustment; and providing for penalties for violation of the ordinance. providing for the amendment of Section 4 covering the zone map of the City of Everett, and amending Sections 8 and 9 providing for dry cleaning establishments using non-flamable liquids pursuant to hearing and approval and declaring an emergency to exist. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Everett does hereby find that the changes hereinafter set forth are for the best interests of the City and in harmony with the comprehen- sive plan of land use for the City. Section 2: That the zone map of the City of Everett, also designated as use map of the City of Everett, as established by Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3572 as above outlined is hereby amended as follows : Beg. at NW car. SW* NW* Section 17, Township 29, North, Range 5 EWM; thence along north line said south boundary 967 feet to center line alley between Lombard and Broadway produced northerly; thence to t.p.o.b. ; thence East on said section 2, line 172 ft. ; thence South 50 ft. ; thence West 172 ft. ; thence North 50 ft. to p.o.b. , less 30 ft. for Broadway when extended, also 12 ft. on West side for alley when extended. Beg. NW corner SW* NW* Section 17, Township 29 North, Range 5 EWM; thence East along North line said boundary 967 ft. to center line of alley between Lombard and Broadway produced; thence South along said alley center line a distance of 50 ft. to tpob; thence East 172 ft. ; thence South 64.83 ft. ; thence West 172 ft. ; thence North 64.83 ft. to tpob, less r/w 30 ft. for Broadway when extended and r/w 12 ft. wide for alley when extended. Are hereby rezoned from R-2, single family high density residence zone, to B-2, community shopping zone. Section 3: That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 3572 be and it is hereby amended to read as follows : Section 8. R-3, MULTIPLE-FAMILY LOW DENSITY RESIDENCE ZONE A. DECLARATION OF PURPOSE: The purpose and function of the R-3 Zone is to pro- vide for and protect certain areas of the City for multiple-family low density residential uses.
