ORDINANCE NO. 3631 <br /> AN ORDINANCE of the City of Everett, Washington, <br /> specifying and adopting a plan for the ac- <br /> quisition, construction and installation of <br /> certain additions and improvements to and <br /> extensions of the water supply and distribution <br /> system of the city, declaring the estimated <br /> cost thereof, and authorizing the issuance of <br /> $3,850,000 of water revenue bonds of the city <br /> to provide funds to pay such cost; ratifying <br /> and confirming a call for bids for certain <br /> materials required to carry out said plan; <br /> ratifying and confirming the acceptance of the <br /> best bid submitted for the furnishing of said <br /> materials; and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett, Washington, now owns, <br /> maintains and operates a water supply and distribution system <br /> for the purpose of furnishing the city, industries within the <br /> city, the city' s inhabitants, and people living in the vicinity <br /> of the city with an adequate supply of water for all purposes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the city has recently entered into contracts to <br /> supply large amounts of water daily to certain industries within the <br /> city; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary that certain additions and im- <br /> provements to and extensions of such water supply and distribution <br /> system be made in order to enable the city to fulfill such contracts <br /> and to supply itself and all of its customers with an adequate supply <br /> of potable water; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary that the city issue and <br /> sell its water revenue bonds in the total principal sum of $3,850,000 <br /> in order to provide the money necessary to acquire, construct and <br /> install the additions and improvements to and extensions of such water <br /> system required to carry out such purposes; and <br />
