No installer or individual shall install or cause to <br /> be installed in the same room with a vented appliance a ventilatin_ <br /> fan in a residence, apartment, hotel or commercial cooking <br /> establishment until the following provisions are complied with: <br /> There shall be a permanently opened ventilator or opening or series <br /> of openings at least equal in area to the total square inches in <br /> the exhaust of the fan or fans. <br /> 2. Black flue pipe shall not be used for the purpose of <br /> venting products of combustion from a gas fired appliance. <br /> 3. No unlined chimney shall be used as a gas vent. All <br /> brick, concrete, or masonry chimneys shall be provided with an <br /> approved corrosion-resistant liner. <br /> 4. In the event conditions are such that the chimney vent <br /> -21- <br />
