other appurtenances to gas appliance in use <br /> prior to conversion from bottled gas to <br /> natural gas shall be altered or replaced in a <br /> manner that will conform to the specifications <br /> and construction standards of this ordinance. <br /> SECTION 29 - REGULATION OF APPLIANCE <br /> INSTALLATION <br /> 1. All domestic appliances, except ranges, hot plates <br /> and refrigerators, must be vented. All heating appliances must <br /> be fully vented regardless of AGA approval. This expressly pro- <br /> hibits the use of open-face and unvented circulating heaters. <br /> 2. No gas appliance shall be so located that it cannot <br /> be readily adjusted. <br /> 3. Furnaces, boilers or other types of heating equip- <br /> ment designed to burn fuel other than gas shall not be converted <br /> to burn gas until such equipment has been approved for conversion <br /> by the Inspector. <br /> 4. All domestic appliances shall be equipped with an <br /> automatic pilot device which will automatically shut off the <br /> gas 100% to the main burner and pilot in event of pilot or gas <br /> failure. <br /> SECTION 30 - VENT PIPES <br /> All vent pipes for floor furnaces and central heating <br /> furnaces must be of standard galvanized iron of not less than <br /> twenty-eight (28) guage or approved Type "B" vents. <br /> The flue or vent connector shall not be smaller than the <br /> size of the flue collar or the size of the outlet of the draft <br /> hood supplied by the manufacturer of a gas-designed appliance. <br /> Where the appliance has more than one flue outlet, and in the <br /> absence of the manufacturer's specific instructions, the flue or <br /> vent connector shall equal the combined area of the flue outlets <br /> for which it acts as a common connector to the flue or vent. <br /> Vent pipes leading from the heating appliances for fuel <br /> other than gas, when converted to gas fuel, may be reduced from <br /> original size on the basis of one (1) square inch of area for <br /> -20- <br />
