+ M f <br /> SECTION 33 - REDUCING DEVICES PROHIBITED <br /> No person, firm or corporation shall, without the approval <br /> of the Inspector, display, sell, barter, replace, offer for sale, <br /> lease, deal in, supply, rent, donate, connect, or install within <br /> the corporate limits of the City of Everett, any device pur- <br /> porting to reduce gas consumption when such device is intended <br /> as an adjunct or addition to a gas appliance, or to be suspended <br /> above, or to wholly or partially enclose any burner of a gas <br /> appliance in such manner as to reduce the effectiveness of <br /> ignition of the gas ensuing from the burner or impair combustion <br /> of said burner. <br /> SECTION 34 - PROPER MAINTENANCE NECESSARY <br /> All gas piping, vents, vent connections, and appliances <br /> shall be maintained in good condition; provided, however, that <br /> no gas piping, vent, vent connection, fixture or appliance not <br /> conforming to the requirements of this ordinance shall be used <br /> or maintained. No gas appliance shall be operated which, in the <br /> opinion of the Inspector is not provided with ample ventilation. <br /> SECTION 35 - CUT-OFFS PROHIBITED <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person by any means to re- <br /> store the flow of gas through pipes which have been shut off <br /> either by the Gas Company supplying the gas or by the gas <br /> inspector. It shall be unlawful for any person, by any means, to <br /> cause gas supplied by any gas company to by-pass the meter by <br /> which the amount of gas supplied by the gas company is measured <br /> and such acts shall be prosecuted according to the terms contain- <br /> ed in this ordinance. <br /> SECTION 36 - PENALTIES <br /> Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate or fail <br /> to comply with any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be <br /> deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall <br /> be fined in an amount not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars (0300.00) <br /> or imprisonment in the City Jail not exceeding thirty (30) days, <br /> or by both such fine or imprisonment. <br /> -23- <br />
