SECTION 37 - ADOPTION BY REFERENCE T at the following codes (three copies of each being on file wit the City Clerk, File No. A\/ - / ) are hereby adopted by refere ce as a part of this ordinance : N:i No. 54 Standards of the National Board of Fire Underwirters for the Installation of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances in Buildings. NFi: No. 58 Standards of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases. NF; No. 59 Standards of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases at Utility Gas Plants. AS, B31.1.8 Section 8 of American Standard Code on Pressure Piping. Rules and Regulations pertaining to matters of public safety and construction and operation of facilities for transmission and distribution of gases adopted by the Washington Public Service Commission November 4, 1955. That should these codes adopted by reference be in conflict with this ordi ance or any other ordinances of the City of Everett the code •r ordinances having the highest standard shall govern, provided ' .rther, that if a code shall conflict with the rules and regulations of the Washington State Public Service Commissio herein adopted, the rules shall govern. SECTION 38 - DUTY TO MAINTAIN If at any time any gas appliance, lines, connections or appurtena ces shall become, because of deterioration, lack of maintenan e, accident or otherwise, in such a condition as to be unsafe or shall fail to comply with this ordinance, the Inspector shall cause notice to be given to the owner or occupant o correct the condition and/or comply with the terms of this ordinance within five days. If the owner or occupant shall fail to comply with the notice the Inspector shall have authority to cause the gas to be disconnected. In case the Inspector shall find any condition to exist which is imminently dangerous to life and property he shall have -24-
