SECTION 37 - ADOPTION BY REFERENCE <br /> T at the following codes (three copies of each being on <br /> file wit the City Clerk, File No. A\/ - / ) are hereby adopted <br /> by refere ce as a part of this ordinance : <br /> N:i No. 54 Standards of the National Board of Fire <br /> Underwirters for the Installation of Gas <br /> Piping and Gas Appliances in Buildings. <br /> NFi: No. 58 Standards of the National Board of Fire <br /> Underwriters for the Storage and Handling <br /> of Liquefied Petroleum Gases. <br /> NF; No. 59 Standards of the National Board of Fire <br /> Underwriters for the Storage and Handling <br /> of Liquefied Petroleum Gases at Utility <br /> Gas Plants. <br /> AS, B31.1.8 Section 8 of American Standard Code on <br /> Pressure Piping. <br /> Rules and Regulations pertaining to matters <br /> of public safety and construction and <br /> operation of facilities for transmission <br /> and distribution of gases adopted by the <br /> Washington Public Service Commission <br /> November 4, 1955. <br /> That should these codes adopted by reference be in conflict with <br /> this ordi ance or any other ordinances of the City of Everett <br /> the code •r ordinances having the highest standard shall govern, <br /> provided ' .rther, that if a code shall conflict with the rules <br /> and regulations of the Washington State Public Service Commissio <br /> herein adopted, the rules shall govern. <br /> SECTION 38 - DUTY TO MAINTAIN <br /> If at any time any gas appliance, lines, connections or <br /> appurtena ces shall become, because of deterioration, lack of <br /> maintenan e, accident or otherwise, in such a condition as to be <br /> unsafe or shall fail to comply with this ordinance, the <br /> Inspector shall cause notice to be given to the owner or <br /> occupant o correct the condition and/or comply with the terms <br /> of this ordinance within five days. If the owner or occupant <br /> shall fail to comply with the notice the Inspector shall have <br /> authority to cause the gas to be disconnected. <br /> In case the Inspector shall find any condition to exist <br /> which is imminently dangerous to life and property he shall have <br /> -24- <br />
