(a) He shall apply for and secure a permit (b) Pay the required permit fee (c) Personally do the work in the manner required by this ordinance subject to the inspection and approval of the Inspedtor. Only one permit per year will be issued to an unlicensed owner for personally installed gas piping or appliance work. The requirements contained herein shall not be construed to limit the right of the Gas Company and its authorized employees to render necessary service in the event of an emergency. SECTION 7 - APPLICATION FOR CER1.'IFICATE OF COMPETENCY AND LICENSE Any person who is required by this ordinance to possess a Gas • Fitter' s Certificate of Competency, shall make application therefor to the Board of Examiners on application blanks provided for that purpose by the Secretary, and pay the fee hereinafter provided for. Every person applying for a Certificate of Competency shall pay to the Secretary of the Board of Examiners at the time he makes such application the following fees: (a) Master Gas Fitter' s Certificate � cn ...__, " ,"_ (b) Journeyman Fitter' s Certificate 5.0o (c) Apprentice Fitter' s Certificate . -0 Failure to appear for examination as notified, unless excused by • the Board, shall cancel application and forfeit application fee. The Board of Examiners shall meet and organize by electing a Chairman and shall designate the time and place for examination of all applicants provided for herein. The Board shall examine said applicants as to their practical and theoretical knowledge of gas fitting , appliance installation and adjustment , submit the applicant to some satisfactory form of practical test and if satisfied of the competency of the applicant, shall issue to applicant a Certificate of Competency which shall authorize the City Clerk to issue a licens ! to such applicant, authorizing him to work at the business of installing gas appliances or gas piping, or gas fitting, as the case -6-
