<br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 27, 28, 29 and 38 of
<br /> Ordinance No. 2513 entitled:
<br /> An Ordinance relating to, and providing for, the
<br /> licensing and regulating of certain occupations,
<br /> businesses, vocations, trades, callings, amusements,
<br /> places of amusement, exhibitions, entertainments,
<br /> animals, motor vehicles, places and establishments;
<br /> defining offenses; providing penalties; providing for
<br /> the revocation and suspension of licenses, repealing
<br /> ordinances No. 2196 853, 1301, 1503, 1583, 1585,
<br /> 1595, 1598, 1771, 1851, 1932, 1941, 1948, 1964, 2087,
<br /> 2182, 2249, 2333, 2370 and 2038, and all other
<br /> ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1: That Section 27 of Ordinance No. 2513 be, and
<br /> it is hereby amended to read as follows :
<br /> Section 27: It shall be unlawful for any person to
<br /> erect, hang, take down, replace, or repair any sign
<br /> without first taking out and procuring a license so to
<br /> do, such license to be known as "Sign Hanger's License" .
<br /> The fee for such sign hanger's license shall be, and the
<br /> same is hereby fixed at the sum of Twenty-five Dollars
<br /> (25.00), per annum.
<br /> Section 2: That Section 28 of Ordinance No. 2513 be, and
<br /> it is hereby amended to read as follows :
<br /> Section 28: Every applicant for a Sign Hanger's
<br /> License shall file with the City Clerk an application
<br /> for such license. He shall also file with the City
<br /> Clerk a bond running to the City of Everett in the
<br /> penal sum of One Thousand Dollars (01,000.00) con-
<br /> ditioned that he will indemnify and save harmless the
<br /> City of Everett from all claims, actions or damages
<br /> of every kind and description which may accrue to, or
<br /> be suffered by, any person by reason of the negligent
<br /> or improper erection or hanging of any sign, or any
<br /> failure to comply with any ordinance in the City of
<br /> Everett relating to the erection and hanging of signs.
<br /> Upon filing such application and
<br /> bond and the payment of the license fee, the City
<br /> Clerk shall issue a Sign Hanger's License in con-
<br /> formity with the provisions of this ordinance.
<br /> Section 3: That Section 29 of Ordinance No. 2513 be, and
<br /> the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
<br /> Section 29: It shall be unlawful for any person
<br /> having a Sign Hanger 's License to erect or hang. any
<br /> sign in or over any street, avenue or alley, or other
<br /> public place within the City of Everett, without a
<br /> permit therefor shall have first been issued to the
<br /> owner of the premises to which such sign shall be
<br /> attached, as provided by ordinance relating thereto,
<br /> and it shall be unlawful for any person having such
<br /> license to erect or hang any such sign in any other
<br /> manner than that prescribed by the ordinances of the
<br /> City regulating the use thereof.
