Section 22: RUBBISH NOT TO BE DEPOSITED IN <br /> SEWERS <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to <br /> deposit any garbage, rubbish, filth, dead animals or any sub- <br /> stance having a tendency to obstruct the flow of sewerage in any <br /> manhole, lamphole, flushtank or sewer opening, or any other <br /> material as specified to be excluded from the sewers in Section 4 <br /> of Ordinance No. 3455 of the City of Everett and any person <br /> violating any provision of this section shall be guilty of a <br /> violation of the ordinance. <br /> Section 23: LIQUIDS NOT TO BE DISCHARGED IN SEWER <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to dis- <br /> charge or cause or permit to be discharged air, gas, steam or <br /> water above 150 degrees Fahrenheit in temperature into any public <br /> sewer, or into any private sewer or drain connecting with such <br /> public sewer. <br /> Section 24: DUTIES OF OFFICERS <br /> It shall be the duty of the police of the city, or any <br /> employee of said city, in all cases where they may find any <br /> person or persons engaged in the work of breaking ground for the <br /> purpose of making connections with the public sewers or drains of <br /> the city, to ascertain at once, if such person or persons are <br /> duly licensed to perform such work, and in the event of such <br /> person not being duly licensed, or not having a permit, to order <br /> them to desist under penalty pf arrest for violation of this <br /> ordinance, and immediately report the fact to the Inspector of <br /> Sewers and Plumbing. <br /> Section 25: LICENSEE TO NOTIFY THE CITY CLERK <br /> No person licensed under this ordinance shall allow his <br /> name to be used by any other person or firm, either for the pur- <br /> pose of obtaining a permit or for doing the work under the <br /> license, and every person licensed shall have his name and place <br /> of business recorded in the office of the City Clerk, and shall <br /> immediately notify said City Clerk of any change of his address. <br /> Section 26: USE OF REDUCER OR BELL OF SMALLER PIPE <br /> When connection is made with the main sewer or drain and <br /> the "Y" in the main sewer or drain is larger than the lateral, <br /> there must be a bell of the smaller pipe or reducer used, and in <br /> all cases where a hole is tapped in the main pipe there must be <br /> a bell of the lateral put in before starting with the lateral, and <br /> in all cases where small pipe connects to large pipe there must <br /> be a bell of small pipe or reducer used in bell of large pipe <br /> before starting with small pipe. No straight pipe will be per- <br /> mitted to be slipped into a larger pipe without first using a <br /> reducer or bell of smaller pipe. <br /> Section 27: LOCATION, CONSTRUCTION & INSPECTION <br /> All side sewers running from the main sewer to all build- <br /> ings, lands or premises shall be not less than 30" from any <br /> foundation wall of any building and if there be no foundation wall, <br /> not less than 30" from the outer lines of any footings, pilings or <br /> building supports. All sidesewers shall have not less than 60" of <br /> cover at the curb line, or in a public alley 30" of cover at the <br /> property line, and 18" of cover on the private property. No side <br /> sewer which is laid generally parallel to the curb or curb line <br /> shall have less than 48" of cover between the curb or uurb line <br /> and the sidewalk or sidewalk line, or less than 30" of cover be- <br /> tween the sidewalk or sidewalk line and the property line. All <br /> cover measurements shall be based on the established grade or on <br /> existing improvements or shall be approved by the City Engineer. <br /> -7- <br />
