- , • • ORDINANCE NO. 3533 AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF THE VARIOUS OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF EVERETT; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, - DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYERS; FIXING THEIR SALARIES; PROVIDING FOR MEDICAL SERVICES; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3492 OF THE CITY OF EVERETT; AND DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON JANUARY 10 1956. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That beginning January 1, 1956 and on and after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett, ih addition to those provided for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this ordinance provided. Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a Special City Attorney, a stenographer and a relief stenographer (part time) . Said Special City Attorney and said stenographer shall • perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct. Section 3 : CITY HALL DEPARTMENT There shall be in the City Hall Department one janitor and one assistant janitor. Said janitor and said assistant janitor shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT There shall be in the Library Department the following named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: One Director, Five Librarians, Four Sub-Professionals, Four Clerks, One Janitor, One or more extra Clerks, • • Pages, others, (part time) . The Director shall be in general charge and shall have supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, • assistants and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the , • nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the Director. Section 5 : CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT There shall be in, the Civil Service Department the following named officers, to-wit : One Secretary (part time); one Assistant Examiner (part time);. one or more Special Examiners (part time) The Secretary, Assistant Examiner and other assistants shall perform such duties as the Civil Service Commission shall • authorize and direct.
