M. .. <br /> t <br /> Section 8: It shall be the duty of each police officer <br /> assigned to traffic duty observing the violation of this ordinance <br /> to take the state vehicle license number of such vehicle, the time <br /> and date of such over-parking and the make of such vehicle, and <br /> issue in writing a citation for illegal parking in the form and <br /> subject to the same procedure provided for by the ordinances of the <br /> City of Everett applicable to traffic violation within said City. <br /> Section 9: Restrictions on parking as herein set forth <br /> and the requirements contained herein for the deposit of coins in <br /> parking meters shall not be effective on Sundays and the following <br /> holidays: <br /> tj January 1st, July 4th, First Monday in September, <br /> December 25th, and the day designated and set <br /> aside by the President of the United States as <br /> Thanksgiving Day. <br /> Section 10: It shall be unlawful and in violation of <br /> the provisions of this ordinance for any unauthorized person to <br /> deface, injure, open, tamper with or wilfully break, destroy oro <br /> impair the usefulness of any parking meter installed or maintained <br /> 1 under the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> Section 11 : It shall be unlawful and in violation of <br /> the provisions of this ordinance to deposit or cause to be <br /> deposited in any parking meter any slug, device or substitute for <br /> 1 lawful coin of the United States. <br /> Section 12: The coins required to be deposited in <br /> parking meters, as provided herein, are hereby levied and assessed <br /> as fees to provide for the proper regulation and control of traffic <br /> upon the public streets, and to cover the cost of supervision, <br /> installation, inspection, operation, maintenance, control and use <br /> of the parking spaces and parking meters described herein, and also <br /> it the cost of supervising and regulating the parking of vehicles in <br /> the parking meter zones created hereby. <br /> Section 13: The Parking Meter Department shall be <br /> under the jurisdiction and control of the Commissioner of Finance. <br /> All funds collected shall be delivered to the City Treasurer and <br /> shall by the City Treasurer be deposited to the General Current <br /> Expense Fund of the City of Everett. <br /> Section 14: Any person violating any of the provisions <br /> of this ordinance or any resolution adopted pursuant to this <br /> ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con- <br /> viction thereof shall be punished by fine not to exceed $100.00 or <br /> by imprisonment in the City Jail not more than thirty days, or by <br /> both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> Section 15: An emergency is hereby declared to exist <br /> and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and <br /> publication. <br /> Section 16: That ordinance no.2951 be, and the same is <br /> hereby repealed. <br /> May <br /> Attes : <br /> f <br /> - ty Cler <br /> Passed: Sert. 27, 1955 <br /> Published: Sept. 28, 1955 <br />
