as to constitute an immediate hazard. A motorist proceeding past <br /> such a sign with a resultant collision or other interferances with <br /> traffic on the intersecting street shall be prima facie evidence <br /> that the motorist had not obeyed the sign and yielded the right- <br /> of-way as provided by this statute. <br /> Section 2: That Section 27 of Ordinance No. 3211 be, and it is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 27: TRAFFIC CONTROL LIGHTS AND SIGNALS; and FREE RIGHT HAND <br /> TURNS. <br /> (1) Whenever, at any point traffic is controlled by traffic <br /> control signals exhibiting, the words "go", "caution" or "stop", or <br /> exhibiting different colored lights successively, the following <br /> words or colors shall be used and shall indicate as follows: <br /> (A) Green alone or "go": Vehicles facing such signal may pro- <br /> ceed through the section of traffic control or turn right or left, <br /> unless a sign at such point indicates such turns are prohibited. <br /> Such vehicles shall yield the right-of-way to other vehicles and <br /> to pedestrians lawfully in the intersection controlled area at the <br /> time such signal is exhibited and shall permit them to proceed from <br /> the controlled area. It shall be unlawful for any pedestrian to <br /> enter or cross the roadway in that portion of the controlled area <br /> through which vehicles are directed to proceed by such exhibited <br /> green light or such word "go". <br /> (B) Yellow alone or the word "Caution" when shown following <br /> green or "Go" signal: Vehicular traffic facing the signal is there- <br /> by warned that the red or Stop signal shall be exhibited immediately <br /> thereafter, and such vehicular traffic shall not enter or be crossing <br /> the intersection when the red or Stop signal is exhibited. Ped- <br /> estrians facing such signal are thereby advised that there is in- <br /> sufficient time to cross the roadway and shall wait for the next <br /> "Go" signal for them to proceed. <br /> (C) Red alone or "Stop": Traffic facing the signal shall stop <br /> before entering the nearest vehicle or pedestrian allocated portion. <br /> of the controlled area or at such other point as may be indicated <br /> by a clearly visible line or other marker, and shall remain standing <br /> as long as such traffic control signal shall exhibit red or the word <br /> "Stop". <br /> Pedestrians may cross the roadway within any marked or un- <br /> marked crosswalk within that portion of the controlled area at the <br /> entrance to which vehicles are directed to stop and remain stand- <br /> ing by the exhibited red light or word "Stop". <br /> (2) The operator of a vehicle approaching an intersection on <br /> the public streets which is controlled by a traffic control <br /> signal using the colors green, yellow and red or simply green and <br /> red, may, when said traffic control light is red, and when there <br /> has been installed a sign reading "After Stcp, Right Turn Permitted <br /> on Red" proceed to the right into said intersection for the purpose <br /> of making a right hand turn, provided that said operator shall <br /> FIiST,reduce speed of his vehicle or stop such vehicle if necessary <br /> to yield the right-of-way to all traffic on the intersection street <br /> which is proceeding through said intersection upon the green light <br /> upon said intersection street; and SECOND, yield right-of-way to <br /> - 2 - <br />
