• <br /> . . <br /> • • <br /> L � <br /> (a) For residential driveways, not less than 10 ft. nor <br /> more than 12 ft. for single driveways, and not more <br /> than 20 ft. for double driveways. <br /> (b) For commercial driveways, when one or more driveway <br /> approaches serve a given property frontage, no single <br /> apron shall exceed 30 ft. in length, if the property <br /> abutts a street where the posted speed limit is 25 <br /> miles or less per hour, or 35 ft. where the posted <br /> speed limit is above 25 but under 45 miles per hour, <br /> or 40 ft. where the posted speed limit is 45 or more <br /> miles per hour, but any length in excess of 30 ft. <br /> is subject to the approval of the L'ity Engineer. A <br /> safety island of not less than 6 ft. of full height <br /> curb shall in all cases be provided "between driveway <br /> approaches and a safety island of not less than 20 <br /> ft. of full height curb shall in all cases be pro- <br /> vided between driveway approaches serving any one <br /> property frontage. <br /> (c) Property frontage referred to herein, includes <br /> approach areas directly in front of property owned <br /> or under the control of the applicant and such area <br /> as may be opposite adjoining property which is used <br /> for approach purposes by right of easement or agree- <br /> ment with the adjoining property owner. <br /> (d) No driveway approach shall project beyond the exten- <br /> sion of the side property line to the curb, unless <br /> the owner of the adjacent property is a co-signer of <br /> 1 the application. <br /> Section 7: CONSTRUCTION DETAILS, <br /> (a) The portion of the driveway approach, between the <br /> front and back edges of the existing sidewalk, shall <br /> be constructed of portland cement concrete, the <br /> remaining portion of the driveway approach shall be <br /> constructed of portland cement concrete or of other <br /> suitable material if approved by the City Engineer <br /> and excepting as provided in Section 9 hereof. '-i'he <br /> concrete of the driveway approach, including the <br /> sidewalk section, shall be 6u thick for both residen- <br /> tial and commercial approaches. <br /> (b) The sidewalk section of the driveway ap_roach shall <br /> be finished and scored as specified by the City <br /> Engineer for typical sidewalk construction. apron <br /> and end slope areas of the driveway approach shall <br /> be finished after troweling smooth and scoring with <br /> a fibre push broom drawn over the surface parallel <br /> to the curb line. <br /> (c) All driveway approaches constructed pursuant to a <br /> permit shall be constructed in accordance with <br /> the CitySpecifications and under the supervision <br /> of the ity Engineer and any portion or whole that <br /> does not comply with the City Specifications shall <br /> be removed and replaced when so directed by the <br /> City Engineer. <br />
