These instruction sheets shall be sub- <br /> ject to the approval of the Fire Chief, and shall include <br /> instructions for proving the correct operation of all important <br /> parts while in service. <br /> (g) It shall be the duty of the person in <br /> charge of every oil burner installed in any building, to <br /> inspect and maintain the equipment for proper operation free <br /> from unnecessary fire hazard or other dangerous conditions <br /> and to have necessary adjustments made by a competent person, <br /> and no other duties shall interfer with such attention as <br /> often as required by the nature of the installation and work- <br /> ing conditions. <br /> (h) It shall be the duty of the person in <br /> charge of every oil burner installed in any building, to <br /> allow no accumulation of leakage of oil in the furnace pit <br /> or in the fire box or on the basement or boiler room floor: <br /> to keep the nozzle of the oil burner clean and free from <br /> carbon and dirt : to keep the fire box free from excessive <br /> deposits of carbon: to keep oil piping through which oil is <br /> delivered litiothaltxxxbaccivodexiixxxxat from the oil storage tank <br /> to the burner absolutely tight, and free from oil leaks: to <br /> keep all packing glands of the oil pumping apparatus tight <br /> and free from oil leaks and to keep the oil burner in <br /> proper working order at all times. In case carbon deposit <br /> shall form within Two (2) feet of the nozzle of the oil burner, <br /> such carbon deposit shall be immediately removed and the <br /> cause thereof corrected. <br /> (i) It shall be unlawful to use or cause to <br /> be used any oil burning equipment that has become unsafe , or <br /> is in imminent danger of becoming so. <br /> Attest : <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: May 11, 1954 <br /> Published: ray 13, 1954 <br />
