- - _ / • / ORDINANCE NO. 3455 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINUTON, AMEND- ING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 835, PASSED AND APPROVED JANUARY 21, 1908, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1118, PASSED AND AP''ROVUD NOVEMBER 22, 1909, REPEALING SECTION 5 OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 835, DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS REGULA'1'ING THE USE AND OPERATION OF THE CITY SEWER SYSTEM, FIXING CHARGES FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL SERVICE, PROVIDING CERTAIN PENALTIES FOR NON-PAYMENT OF SUCH CHARGES, CREATING A SEWER REVENUE FUND, DECLARING CERTAIN ACTS UNLAWFUL AND PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFOR, REPEALING ANY ORDINANCES OR PARTS WHEREOF INCONSIS'TEN'1' HEREWITH, AND DECLARING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF 'THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the City of Everett is contemplating a program of additions and improvements to and extensions of its sewer sys- tem, including the construction of sewage treatment plants; and WHEREAS, it is necessar- that certain provisions, rules and regulations be made as to the use and operation of such sewer system and treatment plant; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that rates and charges be fixed for sewage disposal service in order to provide funds necessary to acquire, construct and install said additions, improvements, ex- tensions and treatment plant and to pay the principal and interest of revenue bonds which ultimately will be issued to provide the balance of the funds necessary for said purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT, WASIIINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: DEFINITIONS: Whenever used in this ordinance: (a) "Everett Municipal Sewer System" shall mean the system of conduits, pumps, treatment plants and structures used for the purpose of conveying from their source, treating in any manner, and conveying to final points of disposal all wastes of any nature permitted by this ordinance to enter said system.
