, <br /> 4 , <br /> Section 6: In computing sick leave only those days on <br /> which the employees would be required to report for work shall be <br /> considered. Sundays, holidays and all other days on which the <br /> employee would not be required to report for work shall be disregard-1 <br /> ed. Upon the request of an employee who shall be absent for <br /> sickness, there may be charged against the vacation allowance of such <br /> is employee a number of days not to exceed the vacation to which he may <br /> be entitled and such employee shall be paid therefor and the vacation <br /> allowance reduced accordingly. <br /> Section 7: The respective department heads shall indi- <br /> cate on each payroll the absence of an employee with pay for over <br /> four (4) days on account of sickness and shall certify that said <br /> employee has accumulated sick leave as provided herein, and it shall <br /> be the duty of the City Treasurer to see that no payment is made for <br /> absence exceeding the time herein provided. <br /> p'. <br /> Section 8: Employees receiving disability benefits by <br /> virtue of any law or ordinance now or hereafter enacted shall be <br /> entitled to sick leave pay only in the amount the same exceeds such <br /> benefits, but there shall be full deduction from any sick leave <br /> accumulation for all absences. <br /> Section 9: Subject to the civil service rules when <br /> applicable, the head of any department may suspend or dismiss any <br /> employee from city employment who fraudulently obtains sick leave. <br /> Section 10: Each department head shall keep uniform <br /> records of the cumulative sick leave of the employees in his depart- <br /> ment on forms to be supplied by the City Treasurer. <br /> Section 11: For th.e purpose of establishing sick leave, <br /> credits for prior service as provided for in Section 2 hereof, the <br /> prior service credit of the employee shall be the same as that <br /> established and allowed by the Everett Employees ' Retirement System. <br /> Section 12: This ordinance shall take effect on <br /> January 1, 1954. <br /> i i fi <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> ity 'Cle +k <br /> Passed: Nov. 24, 1953 <br /> Publi shed: Nov. 27, 1953 <br />
