, *- ' • P e , 4 Section 3: That Part 2, Sec. 2. 5, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 2.5 -- Appointment of Board of Plumber Examiners The Board of Plumbing .6xaminers shall be under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Public Works. The Board of Plumbing Examiners shall consist of four members; one master plumber, one journeyman plumber, and one person not affiliated with the plumbing trade, The Plumbing Official shall be an ex officio member of the Board and shall be its secretary and keep its records. All members of the Board shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public Works and shall serve for two years unless sooner removed for malfeasance in office, neglect of duty, or incapacity. ' Section 4: That Part 2, Sec. 2.6, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 2.6 -- Duties The board of Plumber .,Lxaminers shall issue Plumber ' s Certificates of Qualification to such persons as may be entitled thereto, and conduct examinations for the pur- pose of determining the competency and knowledge of plumbing, and drainage work of persons who are required by this Code to take such examination, Said Board shall keep an accurate record of all their official transactions and render such reports and statistics as the lienartment having jurisdiction may require and direct. Said Board shall elect a Chairman from their members who shall preside at all meetings. They shall adopt such rules and regulations as they sec fit for the proper and efficient discharge of their official duties. They shall determine the character of the examination to be given any applicant therefor, and by majority vote, pass or reject such applicant upon his showing, as the case may be. Said Board shall determine and pass upon the suit- ability of alternate materials, types of construction, matters pertaining to plumbing practice, and supply a reasonable interpretation of the provisions of this Code." Section 5: That Part 2, Sec. 2.13, is amended to read as follows: "Sec. 2.13 -- Master Plumber ' s License Required (a) Before any person, firm, partnership or corpora- tion shall carry on, or engage in the business of Plumbing he or it shall first procure a Master Plumber ' s License and pay to the Department having jurisdiction, the annual license fee imposed on such business. (b) No ...aster Plumber ' s License shall be issued to any person unless uch person possesses a valid Master Plumber' s Certificate of Qualification, provided, how- ever, that a faster Plumber ' s License may be issued to any person, firm, partnership or corporation who makes application for such license by or through a bona fide ! member or authorized agent thereof, who possesses a valid Master Plumber ' s Certificate of qualification.
