r 0 • <br /> • I <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3358 <br /> AN ORDINANCE of the City of Everett, Vgashington, <br /> providing for the submission to the qualified <br /> electors of the City at a special election to <br /> be held therein on March 11, 1952, of a pro- <br /> position of whether or not the City shall <br /> issue its general obligation bonds in the <br /> total principal sum of 4p600,000 for the pur- <br /> pose of providing funds to pay part of the <br /> cost of constructing, installing and making <br /> improvements to certain streets and avenues <br /> within the city, and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, in order to properly accommodate vehicular and <br /> pedestrian traffic, it is deemed necessary that the following des- <br /> cribed improvements to the streets and avenues of the City be con- <br /> structed, installed and made; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide funds necessary to pay part <br /> of the cost of such improvements, it is deemed necessary and <br /> advisable that the City issue and sell its unlimited tax levy general <br /> obligation bonds in the total principal sum of 600,000; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Constitution and Laws of the State of Wash- <br /> ington provide that the question of whether or not such bonds may <br /> be issued for such purposes must be submitted to the qualified <br /> electors of the City for their ratification or rejection; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: It is hereby found and declared that the <br /> public welfare, convenience, and necessity require the City to con- <br /> struct, install and make the following improvements to the streets <br /> and avenues within the City: <br /> 1. NORTON AVENUE OVERPASS. The `'ity shall construct <br /> such roadways as are necessary, together with a vehicle and ped- <br /> estrian overpass over the Great Northern Railroad right-of-,gray so as <br /> to connect the north end of Norton Avenue with Alverson Boulevard <br />
