D Y <br /> AN ORDINANCE fixing and determining the number of the <br /> various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City <br /> of Everett; prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants, <br /> deputies and employees; fixing their salaries; repealing <br /> Ordinance No. 3307 of the City of Everett, and providing that <br /> this Ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1952. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That beginning January 1, 1952, and on and <br /> after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and <br /> employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided <br /> for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this <br /> ordinance provided. <br /> Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a <br /> Special City Attorney, a stenographer and a relief stenographer <br /> (part time) . <br /> Said Special City Attorney and said stenographer shall <br /> perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct <br /> Section 3: CITY HALL DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the City Hall Department one janitor <br /> and one assistant janitor. Said janitor and said assistant <br /> janitor shall perform the janitor worts in connection with the <br /> City Hall. <br /> Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the Library Department the following <br /> named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: <br /> One Librarian; five Professional Assistants; seven <br /> Clerical Assistants; four Clericals (shelvers, pages, <br /> typists) ; one Janitor; one Janitress; and vacation <br /> and emergency extras. <br /> The Librarian shall be in general charge and shall have <br /> supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, <br /> assistants, and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to <br /> the nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the <br /> Librarian. <br /> Section 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the Civil Service Department the <br /> following named officers, to-wit: <br /> One Secretary (part time) ; One Assistant Examiner <br /> (part time) ; One or more Special Examiners (part time) . <br /> The Secretary, Assistant Examiner and other assistants <br /> shall perform such duties as the Civil Service Commission shall <br /> authorize and direct. <br /> -1- <br />
