The 'ity Clerk shall be ex officio Secretary of the Civil Service Commission. The Assistant and Special Examiners in the Civil Service Department shall be appointed by the Civil Service Commission. The Clerk of the Police Department shall be appointed by the Police Justice. The officers, assistants and employees in the Department of Finance shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Finance. The officers, assistants and employees of the Department of Safety shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Safety. The officers, assistants and employees in the Department of Public Works shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public Works. Section 23: That on and after the 1st day of January, 1952, the salaries and compensations to be paid to the officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett shall be as in this Ordinance provided.
