• • ORDINANCE NO. ,%3 c3 AN ORDINANCE granting a franchise to the Everett City Lines, Inc . , a Washington corporation, its successors and assigns, for the establishment , maintenance and operation of a motor bus transportation system in the City of Everett, for the transportation for hire of passengers as a common carrier, and fixing the terms and conditions of such grant. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 Whenever used in this Ordinance, the following terms shall have DEFINITION OF TERMS the meaning herein specified: The term "company" means the Everett City Lines , Inc . , a corporation, its successors and assigns. The term "City" means the City of Everett, and whenever the term "City" is used in a territorial sense, it shall be held to refer to the territory included within the corporate limits of said city, as they may from time to time exist, and to such additional territory as may, for the purpose of this Ordinance, come under the jurisdiction of said city. The term "City Council" means the present governing body of the city, or the incumbants of any office hereafter created by law or by charter performing similar functions. The term "streets" means the streets, avenues, alleys, bridges and other public ways in the city, however they may be designated. The term "motor bus" means any trackless vehicle propelled by power generated by gasoline , oil, electricity or otherwise, but does not include any vehicle using overhead wire. The term "headways" means the interval of time elapsing between the passage at any given point on any route by a motor bus and the passage at the same point by the next motor bus -1-
