<br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3300.
<br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 6 and 7 of Ordinance No.
<br /> 2954 entitled:
<br /> AN ORDINANCE to regulate and restrict the location and
<br /> use of buildings and the use of land within the City of Everett; to
<br /> limit the height of buildings; to prescribe building lines and the
<br /> 1 size of yards and other open spaces and for these purposes to divide
<br /> the City into districts, and providing penalties for the violation
<br /> of the provisions of this ordinance.
<br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1: That section 6 of Ordinance No. 2954 is hereby
<br /> amended to read as follows:
<br /> section 6: C-1 Commercial One District
<br /> In the C-1 Commercial One District, no building or premises
<br /> shall be used and no building shall be hereafter erected or struc-
<br /> turally altered, unless otherwise provided in this ordinance,
<br /> I except for one or more of the following:
<br /> 1. Any use permitted in the R-1, Residential One District,
<br /> provided regulations pertaining thereto as heretofore provided,
<br /> are complied with, namely: site area, open spaces, yards, height ,
<br /> ji limit, and permits.
<br /> 2. Retail stores, shops, and merchandising establishments
<br /> selling such items as groceries, meats, candy, confectionary,
<br /> bakery products, drugs, news, stationery, cigars, tobacco , cloth-
<br /> ing, drygoods, varieties, hardware, paints, glass , heating and
<br /> plumbing supplies , furnishings and household goods, radios,
<br /> musical instruments, flowers, jewelry and other general merchandise ;
<br /> 3 office buildings; personal service and stores or parlors, restaurants,
<br /> drinking places ; theatres and uses similar to the above ; but however,
<br /> there is prohibited any kind of manufacture, production or treatment
<br /> I other than manufacture, production or treatment of products clearly
<br /> !' incidental to the conduct of a retail business conducted on the
<br /> premises.
<br /> 3 . Public garages , service stations, open-air used car
<br /> lots, recreational enterprises and advertising devises may be
<br /> allowed by the Commission by special permit subject to the con-
<br /> ditions set forth in said permit after public hearing and exam-
<br /> ination of the location and upon due proof to the satisfaction of
<br /> the Commission that the location thereof will not be unduly de-
<br /> 4 triment al to the adjacent and surrounding property, subject to
<br /> p revocation by the Commission after hearing upon showing that such
<br /> 4s premises is being used in a manner detrimental to the adjacent and
<br /> !, surrounding property or in violation of the conditions of said
<br /> fl permit.
<br /> 4. Dyeing and cleaning works may be established and main
<br /> 1tained in new buildings constructed in accordance with the Build-
<br /> ing Code of the City of Everett built for the uses of dyeing and
<br /> cleaning works.
<br /> 5 . Whenever any C-1, Commercial One District, is located
<br /> within or is adjacent to, on two or more sides, any R-2, Residential
<br /> Two District, the uses permitted in the R-2, Residential Two
<br /> District, will also be permitted in such C-1, Commercial One District,
<br /> provided further that any one ; ermitted in the R-2, Residential
<br /> Two District, may be allowed in any C-1, Commercial One District,
