WORK PROGRAM Task 1. Data Gathering and Direct Impacts Our work will begin with a comprehensive review of existing data sources. We will mine existing data sources as well as data gathered by the City of Everett, AquaSox, Funko Field, and other relevant stakeholders on visitation and operations. The project will begin with a kick-off meeting to align expectations on deliverables and timeline. Additionally, this kick-off meeting will be leveraged to discuss data collected by the City of Everett, the Everett School District, Funko Field and the AquaSox. Specific data required for the analysis includes, but is not limited to: • Jobs, wages, business revenues and visits at Funko Field. We will collaborate with the City of Everett and other stakeholders to understand the data available on activities at Funko Field and the AquaSox. The request will look at both pre-pandemic data as well as after the MiLB rules went into effect. CAI will also work with the City of Everett to understand data available for the Angels of the Wind Arena as well as the 3 potential alternative sites for the AquaSox. • Visitation and visitor spending patterns. In addition to gathering data on the operations of Funko Field and the AquaSox, we will gather data on visitors to Funko Field and their spending patterns. We will leverage any data gathered directly by stakeholders, any data available from Angels of the Wind Arena events, as well as publicly available spending data through Dean Runyan and Associates. We will also leverage any existing research, including studies on the economic impacts of MiLB team operations on local communities, other sports teams and similar event venues, as well as the differences in impact depending on the proximity of other businesses. Deliverable: Draft report outline with interim draft findings Task 2. Economic Impact Analysis We will leverage our expertise in economic impact modeling to produce estimates of the total economic impacts of the AquaSox events to the Snohomish County economy. This will include economic impacts from facility operations and visitor spending impacts prior to the pandemic (2019) and in 2021. The analysis will also cover the potential differences in impact based on 2-3 alternative sites.
