3) Sewer has roots at a few places getting in at separations in pipe. The worst roots are
at the beginning where pipe leaves building where a B/W valve will go and this should
help the sewer a lot and get it by till further work can be done. The side sewer might last
a ear or two after B/W valve is installed before roots clog it and cause a back up.
•12l9/2r0'19 /— i o g)o 7 r'
.. -eattIe 0r I 3•
'
A
4
441 it # 'r ..
 4t
-
_ 1
r _ie
fS Si 60 ©co
a?.
Root intrusion into side sewer
Solution: Same as above repair or replace side sewer.
4) All of the downspouts are currently clogged and had dirt and standing water in them.
Also, depending on outlet locations they may be contributing to increased sewer flows
or other downstream problems.
Solution (A): Disconnect downspouts from underground lines. Cap or fill underground
lines. Rout flows from downspouts to a splash block (edge of block 3' minimum from
house) and verify that yard slopes away from house.
Solution (B): Install Rain barrels to retain water run off
As-Built of Sewer and Plumbing
See attached drawing.
Comments
Installing a grinder pump would provide increased protection from sewer backups
beyond the protection a backwater valve can provide.
