ORDINANCE NO. 326g. An Ordinance fixing and determining the number of the various officers, assistants, deputies, and employees of the City of Everett; prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants, depu- ties, and employees; fixing their salaries, repealing Ordinance No. 3221 of the City of Lverett, and providing that this Ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1950. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Beginning January 1, 1950, and on and after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies, and employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this ordinance pro- vided. Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT: There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a Special. City Attorney, a stenogra- pher, and a relief stenographer (part time) . Said Special City Attorney and said stenographer shall perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct. Section 3: CITY HALL DEPAR MENT: There shall be in the City Hall Department one janitor and one assistant janitor. Said janitor and said assistant janitor shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT: There shall be in the Library Department the following named officers, assistants, and em- ployees, to-wit: One Librarian, five or more Assistant Librarians, four or more clerical assistants; one or more pages, shelvers, and typists; and one or more Janitors. The Librarian shall be in general charge and shall have supervision of the .uibrary Department. The other officers, assist- ants, and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the na- ture of their office and as authorized and directed by the Librarian. Section 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT: There shall be in the Civil Service Department the following named officers, to-wit: One Secretary (part time) ; One Assistant Examiner (part time) ; one or more Special Examiners (part time) . The Secretary, Assistant Examiner, and other assistants shall perform such duties as the Civil Service commission shall au- thorize and direct. Section 6: CITY POUND DEPARTMENT (Sub-Division of Police Department) : The City Pound Department is and shall be a sub-division of the Police Department as provided by Ordinance No. 3197. There shall be in the City Pound Department one Pound- master and one Assistant Pound Master.
