ORDINANCE NO. 326g. <br /> An Ordinance fixing and determining the number of the <br /> various officers, assistants, deputies, and employees of the City of <br /> Everett; prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants, depu- <br /> ties, and employees; fixing their salaries, repealing Ordinance No. <br /> 3221 of the City of Lverett, and providing that this Ordinance shall <br /> take effect on January 1, 1950. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Beginning January 1, 1950, and on and after <br /> said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies, and employees <br /> of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided for in the <br /> Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this ordinance pro- <br /> vided. <br /> Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT: There shall be in <br /> the office of the City Attorney a Special. City Attorney, a stenogra- <br /> pher, and a relief stenographer (part time) . <br /> Said Special City Attorney and said stenographer shall <br /> perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct. <br /> Section 3: CITY HALL DEPAR MENT: There shall be in the <br /> City Hall Department one janitor and one assistant janitor. Said <br /> janitor and said assistant janitor shall perform the janitor work in <br /> connection with the City Hall. <br /> Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT: There shall be in the <br /> Library Department the following named officers, assistants, and em- <br /> ployees, to-wit: One Librarian, five or more Assistant Librarians, <br /> four or more clerical assistants; one or more pages, shelvers, and <br /> typists; and one or more Janitors. <br /> The Librarian shall be in general charge and shall have <br /> supervision of the .uibrary Department. The other officers, assist- <br /> ants, and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the na- <br /> ture of their office and as authorized and directed by the Librarian. <br /> Section 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT: There shall be in <br /> the Civil Service Department the following named officers, to-wit: <br /> One Secretary (part time) ; One Assistant Examiner (part time) ; one <br /> or more Special Examiners (part time) . <br /> The Secretary, Assistant Examiner, and other assistants <br /> shall perform such duties as the Civil Service commission shall au- <br /> thorize and direct. <br /> Section 6: CITY POUND DEPARTMENT (Sub-Division of Police <br /> Department) : The City Pound Department is and shall be a sub-division <br /> of the Police Department as provided by Ordinance No. 3197. <br /> There shall be in the City Pound Department one Pound- <br /> master and one Assistant Pound Master. <br />
