41177 CITY OF EVERETT
Public Works Department
August 21,-2018
Pete Sikov
New Hewitt/Hodges Association LLC
PO Box 22286
Seattle,WA 98122
petehunt@aol.com
Subj: Questions Regarding Project at 1804 Hewitt Ave.
Mr. Sikov,
This is in response to the questions posed at our meeting Monday,August 20th. I have included the
questions(as I understand them)for clarity. If I have answered the wrong question or have not fully
answered any question please let me know.
Is there a permit for the trash chute?
• The trash chute and grease duct (not to include hood or fan) are each permitted under
mechanical permit M1801-007.There have been no inspections or field approvals to date on
this permit however the trash chute has been inspected under building permit B1606-075
(parent building permit for the project). Future inspection requests for the trash chute may
continue under the building permit however all grease duct inspections should be under the
mechanical permit.
Is the plumbing signed off in the building?
• Yes,the plumbing rough-in is signed off on all residential floors. The rough-in plumbing not
signed off is the entry-level floor(commercial areas)and the mezzanine level.
o As a heads-up, clearances on some of the relocated toilets in the dwelling units need to
have 21" clear in front of the toilets—(item noticed in units (x)03 on each floor).
Are the kitchens, bathrooms and corridors required to have exhaust fans, are they not grandfathered?
This has not been a planned part of the project and is being brought up now, why?
• The mechanical systems) has not been reviewed and no (overall) mechanical permit has been
applied for.The building permit plans listed Heating,Ventilation and Air Conditioning as a
deferred submittal (sheet 12 of 13 under general notes)—this deferred submittal has not yet
occurred (except for the trash chute and grease duct). The systems are being brought up now as
0n 3200 Cedar Street 0 425.257.8800 O everettpw@everettwa.gov
/ Everett,WA 98201 425.257.8882 fax everettwa.gov
