SECTION 230593 - HVAC TESTING, ADJUSTING AND BALANCING CONTINUED <br />2.3 EXAMINATION CONTINUED <br />B. TEST AND VERIFICATION OF CONTROL SYSTEM <br />1. THE AIR BALANCE AND TESTING AGENCY, WITH THE AID OF THE CONTROL CONTRACTOR, <br />SHALL VERIFY THAT THE CONTROL SYSTEMS ARE PERFORMING IN ACCORDANCE TO THE <br />SPECIFIED CRITERIA. <br />2. THIS PROCEDURE SHALL NOT RELIEVE THE CONTROL CONTRACTOR OF ANY <br />RESPONSIBILITIES. PREPARE A TAB PLAN THAT INCLUDES STRATEGIES AND STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURES, <br />B. COMPLETE SYSTEM -READINESS CHECKS AND PREPARE REPORTS. <br />C. PROVIDE INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED FOR TESTING, ADJUSTING AND BALANCING OPERATIONS. <br />2.5 PROCEDURES <br />A. GENERAL <br />1. ALL PROCEDURES SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND MEET ALL THE REQUIREMENTS <br />OF EITHER AABC OR NEBB PROCEDURAL STANDARDS FOR ALL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS <br />INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED IN THIS SECTION ARE <br />INTENDED TO BE SUPPLEMENTARY TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THESE STANDARDS. <br />B. EXISTING SYSTEMS <br />1. PERFORM A PRE -CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION OF EXISTING EQUIPMENT THAT IS TO <br />REMAIN AND BE REUSED. <br />2. DEFICIENCIES NOTED IN THE PRE -CONSTRUCTION REPORT ARE CORRECTED. <br />4. PERFORM TESTING AND BALANCING OF EXISTING SYSTEMS TO THE EXTENT THAT <br />EXISTING SYSTEMS ARE AFFECTED BY THE RENOVATION WORK. <br />2.6 TOLERANCES <br />A. BALANCE ALL SYSTEMS TO WITHIN PLUS OR MINUS 10% OF DESIGN PARAMETERS. WHEN <br />SYSTEM PERFORMANCE ALLOWS, BALANCE SYSTEMS SO THAT TOTAL SYSTEM FLOWS ARE AT <br />A MINIMUM OF 100% OF DESIGN PARAMETERS, WITHOUT CAUSING ANY INDIVIDUAL FLOW <br />LOCATION TO BE MORE THAN 10% IN EXCESS OF DESIGN PARAMETERS. <br />2.7 REPORTING <br />A. FINAL REPORT <br />1. GENERAL: PREPARE A CERTIFIED WRITTEN REPORT; TABULATE AND DIVIDE THE REPORT <br />INTO SEPARATE SECTIONS FOR TESTED SYSTEMS AND BALANCED SYSTEMS. <br />a. IF RECHECKS YIELD MEASUREMENTS THAT DIFFER FROM THE MEASUREMENTS <br />DOCUMENTED IN THE FINAL REPORT BY MORE THAN THE TOLERANCES ALLOWED, THE <br />MEASUREMENTS SHALL BE NOTED AS "FAILED." <br />3. IF THE NUMBER OF "FAILED" MEASUREMENTS IS GREATER THAN 10 PERCENT OF THE <br />TOTAL MEASUREMENTS CHECKED DURING THE FINAL INSPECTION, THE TESTING AND <br />BALANCING SHALL BE CONSIDERED INCOMPLETE AND SHALL BE REJECTED. <br />B.
