How many down spouts are currently connected to the sewer: 1
Does side sewer have slope: Yes, 2% grade on side sewer
Depth of side sewer 10ft from house: 6' 4"
Depth of side sewer at proposed B/W valve installation location: 6'
Any additional comments:
• Most of rain gutter drains are already disconnected. One is still connected to
side sewer.
• Sewer was very hard to get location on maybe because of the gas line, or slope
of landscape in yard. Contractor doing B/W Valve should locate side sewer
before digging.
Problems Identified
1) House side sewer is not protected by a backwater valve. During sewer surcharge
events sewer flows could back up and spill out of below ground fixtures.
Solution: Install backwater valve at location specified on attached sewer and drainage
sketch.
2) Sewer has some bad offsets in bottom of pipe. Offsets could cause blockages.
. -
.
4r"g
Offset joint in side sewer
Solution (A): Re place sewer if clogging becomes problematic.
Solution (B): reline sewer with epoxy.
3) Garage driveway Floor drain will flood with rainwater if there is a sewer backup.
