Table 1 includes Design and <br /> Performance Requirements, and Table 2 includes Construction Requirements. <br /> Table 1 Design and Performance Criteria <br /> Criterion Requirement <br /> General <br /> Allowable 1. All materials shall be protected from corrosion by industry standard corrosion <br /> Materials protection methods. <br /> 2. All materials in direct contact with source water and potable water, including <br /> coatings, sealants, patching compounds, and other materials used on the <br /> project shall be rated for potable water use consistent with ANSI/NSF 61 <br /> Certification and AWWA Standards. <br /> 3. All materials, including coatings, sealants, insulation, cladding, and other <br /> materials used on the project shall be compatible with existing site infrastructure <br /> materials. <br /> Structural 1. The structural design shall be completed by a Structural Engineer licensed in <br /> Design the State of Washington. <br /> 2. Allowable settlement and a settlement monitoring plan will be developed <br /> between the City and the Design-Builder. Allowable settlement will be <br /> established to limit settlement or movement of existing site infrastructure and <br /> shall not cause leakage or adversely affect water filter plant processes or <br /> operations. <br /> Seismic 1. Design of seismic improvements is anticipated to be limited to the stabilization <br /> Improvements of valve vault structures, and any proposed bypass structures that will remain in <br /> Design service. Seismic stabilization is not expected to be provided to connecting <br /> pipelines. <br /> 2. Installation of resilient, flexible connections between the seismically stabilized <br /> valves and adjacent non-seismically stabilized pipelines is anticipated. <br /> Page 11 of 16 <br />
