4) Side sewer has an 8' flat spot with no grade. This makes future side sewer backups <br /> more likely. <br /> Solution: <br /> Replace side sewer with a continuous slope from proposed backwater valve to sewer <br /> main. <br /> Site Drainage and Plumbing Sketch <br /> See attached drawing. <br /> Back Water Valve should be located where the existing clean out is and a new clean out <br /> should be installed so that it is downstream of the backwater valve (closer to the street). <br /> All down spouts need to be disconnected from the system so that the floor drain at the <br /> back door can be protected by the Back Water Valve. <br /> Comments <br /> • Replacing side sewer may not be necessary at this time. However, it would <br /> provide increased protection from future sewer backups. <br /> • Installing a grinder pump would provide increased protection from sewer backups <br /> beyond the protection a backwater valve can provide. <br />
