2. <br />BACKWATER VALVE AUTHOItIZATION <br />Permission to Insoxt. The Owner gran�s pertnission to the City and its conuactor to <br />inspectthe plumbing and drsinagc ofthe C�me!'s property forthe purpose of gathcring <br />fnfortnation regerding whether a backwater vulve should be installed. The Ciry and <br />Ownr.; will cooperate to determine a mutuelly agseeable time for the inspection. The <br />inspection is at the City's sole cost. <br />Backwa!er Valve. <br />p. Citv Revicw of Insaection and Permission to Install Backwaler Valve. The Ciry <br />will rcview thc results of the inspection and will detertnine whether a backwater <br />valve should be installed. By signine this authori�ation, the Owner grants the <br />City and its contractor pertnission to install thc backwater valve if the City <br />determines that a backwater valve should be installed. "fhis instsllation is at lhe <br />Ciry's sole cost. <br />B. Other Devices. There may be other devic.:s that provide as good as (or greater) <br />protection than a backwater valve. By signing this authorization, the Owner <br />grants the Ciry and its canhactor pertnission to install the olher device iFthe City <br />detertnines thnt it should be installed. This installation is at the City's sole cost. <br />However, if the Owner desircs inslallation of the other device, but the City has <br />detertnined to only instell a backwater valve, then the Owner may inslall the other <br />device, and the City will reimburse the Owner up to the installation cost of the <br />beckwater valve. <br />C. Future Mainlene�ice. Upon installation, the backwater valve or other device is the <br />O�mcr's property. The Owncr is exclusively responsible to maintain it. <br />3. Uthcr Recommended Improvements. After the wmpletion of thc inspection, the City <br />may provide the Owner with a list of other recommended impmvements to thc property's <br />plumbing and drainage systems.
