• <br /> if <br /> tt <br /> CRAP Tit I I I <br /> REQUIRED OBEDIENCE TO TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br /> Section 15: AUTHORITY To INSTALL TRAFFIC-CC TROD DEVICES. <br /> The Chief of Police, when authorized by written resolution of the <br /> 0ity Council, shall do the following acts with respect to traffic- <br /> control devices: <br /> (1) Place and maintain traffic-control signs, signals, <br /> and devices when and as required under the traffic ordinances of <br /> this city to make effective the provisions of said ordinances, and <br /> r may place and maintain such additional traffic-control devices as <br /> he may deem necessary to regulate traffic under the traffic ordinances <br /> of this city or under state law, or to guide or warn traffic. <br /> (2) Determine upon what streets or portions thereof <br /> vehicles shall be angle parked and shall indicate the same by marks <br /> ;,; or signs placed in such streets or portions thereof. <br /> (3) Prohibit at certain times, or entirely, or shorten <br /> the time during which vehicles may be parked in locations where <br /> traffic tends to congest and erect appropriate signs indicating such , <br /> locations and the hours during which the same shall be kept in force <br /> ; or deemed in use. <br /> (4) Establish school crossings at intersections in the <br /> vicinity of schools where crossing the roadway by school children is <br /> dangerous and is hereby authorized to mark and maintain, with paint <br /> or otherwise, crosswalks at such places. <br /> (5) Mark lanes for traffic. <br /> (6) :restrict or prohibit traffic in one direction upon <br /> narrow streets or in alleys and sb.allplace and maintain signs <br /> giving notice thereof. <br /> (7) Mark pedestrian crosswalks at intersections, or at <br /> other points, and to use discs, standards, stanchions, buttons, <br /> signs, painted lines or other means to give notice of existence of <br /> 1; such crosswalks. <br /> (8) r'lace intersection center markers, intersection <br /> entrance markers and/or turning markers within or at the entrance <br /> to intersections. <br /> (9) To determine those intersections pt which drivers of <br /> vehicles shailnot make a right, left, or U turn, and shall place <br /> proper signs at such intersections. The making of such turns may be <br /> prohibited between certain hours of any day and permitted at other <br /> hours, in which event the same shall be plainly indicated on the <br /> signs or they may be removed when such turns are permitted. <br /> i <br /> Section 16: EXISTING TRAFFIC SIGNALS APPROVED. The <br /> traffic-control devices at the following intersections are hereby <br /> approved and no further act on the part of the City L'ouncil or any <br /> other officer of the City of Everett shall be required to make their <br /> installations valid: <br /> -10- <br />
