Suns, approved by the Chief <br /> of Police and furnished by the management of the funeral parlor or <br /> church adjacent to any such zone, shall be placed on the parking <br /> strip immediately adjacent to such zone. Luring; all times when such <br /> signs are posted no person stall stop, stand or park any vehicle, <br /> other than those mentioned above, in any such funeral zone except <br /> for the purpose of loading or unloading persons or commodities used <br /> in connection with the funeral. <br /> Section 71: CITY USE ZONES. The city council may, by <br /> resolution, establish along the curb in any street near the municipal <br /> building, the fire stations, other city buildings and installations <br /> and at such other places as may be reasonably necessary, restricted <br /> parking zones for the purpose of facilitating the work of the police, <br /> fire and other departments of the city. The city council may also, <br /> , by resolution, establish the hours of use and other special regulat- <br /> tions for such zones and provide for the posting of notice thereof. <br /> Such zones shall be reserved primarily for the use of vehicles owned <br /> by the city, but the city council may by resolution provide for the <br /> use of such zones by vehicles of others who are actually engaged <br /> in city business. <br /> Section 72: UNAUTHuhIZub SIGNS PuCllEITED. Except as <br /> hereinbefore provided, it shall be unlawful for any person other than <br /> the Chief of Police or his duly authorized agents to erect, place a <br /> exhibit any traffic sign or standard upon any public highway of the <br /> city of Everett, or to attempt by signs or written or printed instruc- <br /> tions or inhibitions to regulate traffic or the parking of vehicles. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to print or paint anyting on the <br /> sidewalks, curbs or streets of said city without permission so to do <br /> from the city council. <br /> Section 73: LIMITED PARKING. <br /> (1) for the purpose of facilitating the movement <br /> of traffic and access to the business districts of the city and pro- <br /> vicing just and equitable parking privileges and o;uportunities for <br /> operators of motor vehicles, the city council may, by resolution, <br /> impose time limits upon parking in any oortion of any street. The <br /> city council may also, by resolution, establish the hours and days <br /> when such tire limits shall be effective. The city council shall <br /> provide for the posting of signs giving notice of such time limits <br /> and special restrictions. In the absence of signs giving notice of <br /> such special restrictions, the general provisions of this ordinance <br /> shall govern. <br /> (2) Time limits on parking imposed pursuant to the <br /> Treceding section shall be applicable between the hours of 5:00 <br /> o ' clock a.m. and 6:00 o 'clock p.m. nail, except Sundays and tie <br /> following holidays : New Year ' s Day, Memorial bay, independence Lay, <br /> Labor Day, Armistice bay, TTnansk riving Day ana Christmas Lay. <br /> (3) _vo person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle with. <br /> in any such designated area for a longer period than is provided in <br /> such resolution and shown upon such. signs. No person shall move a <br /> vehicle from one parking space to another within a single block on <br /> the same street within any such designated area for the purpose of <br /> evading the time limitation on parking therein. <br /> (4) In checking for overtime parking police officers <br /> -25- <br />
