Pt <br /> 1 i <br /> • <br /> of such repair, the motor number of the vehicle if it be a motor <br /> vehicle, or the serial number of the vehicle if it be a trailer or <br /> semi-trailer, the license number of the vehicle, a brief statement <br /> of the nature of such repairs ana the cost thereof. Such report <br /> shall be certified by the person or duly authorized representative <br /> of the firm, corporation or association performing such repairs, <br /> stating that the same is a true and accurate report of all such <br /> repairs covered by said report, in any wise indicating that <br /> the injury or damage to such vehicle could have been caused by <br /> collision. It shall be unlawful for any person to tail to submit <br /> such report or to certify to any such report containing fraudulent <br /> or untrue information or omitting any required information in any <br /> material respect. Such report shall be submitted to the Chief of <br /> Police on Monday of each week for the proceeding calendar week, who - <br /> shall check such report for his own purposes and forward the same <br /> to the Chief of the Washington State Patrol within ten (10) days <br /> from the date of submission to him. The person performing such <br /> repairs shall retain the duplicate copy of such report in their <br /> permanent files and the same shall be open to inspection during <br /> business hours by any peace officer or any person authorized by the <br /> Chief of the Washington State Patrol. Such report shall also be made <br /> by persons providing storage or furnishing appraisals and shall <br /> contain the same record as required above of any such vehicles brought <br /> in for appraisal or storage. Forms for such records shall be <br /> prescribed by the Chief of the Washington State Patrol and may be <br /> obtained from the local authority to whom accident reports are made. <br /> Section 140: UNLAWFUL TO DESTROY OR CONCEAL EVIDENCE <br /> OF DAMAGE. It shall be unlawful for any person to destroy or <br /> conceal any evidence of damage to a vehicle indicating that such <br /> damage could be the result of collision with any person or property <br /> without adequate record thereof and any person so doing shall be <br /> guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> Section 140 b: INFORMATION AND AID IN . CASE OF ACCIDENT. <br /> (a) An operator of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting <br /> in the injury to or death of any person shall immediately stop such <br /> vehicle at the scene of such accident or as close thereto as possible <br /> but shall then forthwith return to and in every event remain at, the <br /> scene of such accident until he has fulfilled the requirements of <br /> subdivision (c) of this section; <br /> (b) The operator of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting <br /> only in damage to a vehicle which is driven or attended by any person, <br /> shall immediately stop such vehicle at the scene of such accident or <br /> as close thereto as possible and shall forthwith return to, and in <br /> any event shall remain at, the scene of such accident until he has <br /> fulfilled the requirements of subdivision (c) of this section; <br /> (c) The operator of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in <br /> injury to or death of any person or damage to any vehicle which is <br /> driven or attended by any person shall give his name, address and <br /> vehicle license number and shall exhibit his vehicle operator 's <br /> license to any person struck or injured or the operator cr any <br /> occupant of or any person attending, any such vehicle col,Lided with <br /> and shall render to any person injured in such accident reasonable <br /> assistance, including the carrying or the making of arrangerrents for <br /> the carrying of such person to a physician or hospital for medical <br /> treatment if it is apparent that such treatment is necessary or if <br /> such carrying is requested by the injured person or on his behalf, <br /> Under no circumstances shall the rendering of assistance or other <br /> compliance with the provisions of this section be evidence of the <br /> liability of any operator for such accident. <br /> -41- <br />
