• <br /> ro ti <br /> • <br /> n <br /> . • • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3197. <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the licensing of all dogs <br /> within the corporate limits of the City of Everett; prohibiting <br /> dogs from running at large within the corporate limits of the City <br /> of Everett during certain periods of time and under certain con- <br /> ditions; prohibiting horses, cows, calves, colts, goats or kids, <br /> or any other domestic animal, from running at large or being <br /> pastured or staked out in the City of Everett , except as otherwise <br /> provided; authorizing the impounding and destruction of dogs and <br /> domestic animals ; creating office of pound master; providing for <br /> appointment of pound master; providing a penalty, and repealing <br /> Ordinance No. 1603 and section 79 through 91, Ordinance No. 2513 , <br /> and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict there- <br /> with. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: DEFINITION OF TERMS; As used in this <br /> Ordinance, unless the context otherwise indicates: <br /> (a) "Dog" shall be intended to mean both male <br /> and female. <br /> (b) "Owner" shall be intended to mean any <br /> person or persons, firm, association, or <br /> corporation owning, keeping or harboring <br /> a dog or domestic animal. <br /> (c) "At large" shall be intended to mean off the <br /> premises of the owner, and not under the <br /> control of the owner or a member of his <br /> immediate family, either by leash, cord, <br /> chain or otherwise. <br /> Section 2: LICENSE FEES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED: <br /> All dogs kept , harbored or maintained by their owners or agents in <br /> the City of Everett shall be licensed end registered if over Four (4) <br /> months of age. The annual license fee for dogs over Four (4) months <br /> of age shall be as follows: <br /> Each male dog 52.00 <br /> Each female dog 35.00 <br /> Provided, that, if accepting the application for license for a <br /> spayed female dog, there shall be a certificate from a licensed <br /> veterinary surgeon that said female dog has been previously spayed. <br /> The annual license fee shall oe . 2.00 for each female dog. At the <br /> time of making application for said license , the owner shall state <br /> in said application, on the printed form provided for such purpose, <br /> his name and address, the name , breed, color and sex of each dog <br /> kept by him. Upon the presentation of such application and tender <br /> of the fee provided herein, the Clerk of the City of Everett shall <br /> issue a license for such dog. The provisions of this section shall <br /> not be maintained to apply to dogs brought into the City for the <br /> purpose of participating in any dog show, nor to "seeing eye" dogs <br /> properly trained to assist blind persons, when such dogs are <br /> actually being used by blind persons for the purpose of aiding them <br /> in going from place to place. <br /> - 1 - <br />
