AN ORDINANCE providing for the licensing of all dogs within the corporate limits of the City of Everett; prohibiting dogs from running at large within the corporate limits of the City of Everett during certain periods of time and under certain con- ditions; prohibiting horses, cows, calves, colts, goats or kids, or any other domestic animal, from running at large or being pastured or staked out in the City of Everett , except as otherwise provided; authorizing the impounding and destruction of dogs and domestic animals ; creating office of pound master; providing for appointment of pound master; providing a penalty, and repealing Ordinance No. 1603 and section 79 through 91, Ordinance No. 2513 , and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict there- with. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: DEFINITION OF TERMS; As used in this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise indicates: (a) "Dog" shall be intended to mean both male and female. (b) "Owner" shall be intended to mean any person or persons, firm, association, or corporation owning, keeping or harboring a dog or domestic animal. (c) "At large" shall be intended to mean off the premises of the owner, and not under the control of the owner or a member of his immediate family, either by leash, cord, chain or otherwise. Section 2: LICENSE FEES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED: All dogs kept , harbored or maintained by their owners or agents in the City of Everett shall be licensed end registered if over Four (4) months of age. The annual license fee for dogs over Four (4) months of age shall be as follows: Each male dog 52.00 Each female dog 35.00 Provided, that, if accepting the application for license for a spayed female dog, there shall be a certificate from a licensed veterinary surgeon that said female dog has been previously spayed. The annual license fee shall oe . 2.00 for each female dog. At the time of making application for said license , the owner shall state in said application, on the printed form provided for such purpose, his name and address, the name , breed, color and sex of each dog kept by him. Upon the presentation of such application and tender of the fee provided herein, the Clerk of the City of Everett shall issue a license for such dog. The provisions of this section shall not be maintained to apply to dogs brought into the City for the purpose of participating in any dog show, nor to "seeing eye" dogs properly trained to assist blind persons, when such dogs are actually being used by blind persons for the purpose of aiding them in going from place to place. - 1 -
