• <br /> Section 3 : TAG AND COLLAR: Upon payment of the license <br /> fee , the Clerk shall issue to the owner a license certificate and a <br /> metallic tag for each dog to licensed. The shape of the tag shall <br /> be changed every year and shall have stamped thereon the year for <br /> which it was issued and the number corresponding with the number of <br /> the certificate. Every owner shall be rec'uired to provide each dog <br /> with a collar to which the license tag must be affixed, and shall <br /> see that the collar and tag are constantly worn. In case a dog tag <br /> is lost or destroyed, a duplicate will be issued by the Clerk upon <br /> presentation of a receipt showing the payment of the license fee <br /> for the current year, and the payment of a twenty-five (25¢) cent <br /> fee for such duplicate. Dog tags shall not be transferable from <br /> one dog to another, and no refunds shall be made on any dog license <br /> fee because of death of the dog or the owner' s leaving the City <br /> before expiration of the license period. <br /> Se ction 4: UNLICENSED DOGS AND CATS IMPOUNDED : It shall <br /> be unlawful for the owner of any dog to keep, harbor or maintain <br /> any such dog unless licensed or registered as provided in this <br /> ordinance , and it shall be the duty of the pound master to impound <br /> all such dogs unlicensed found within the City of Everett. <br /> Section 5 : CONFINELENT OF CERTAIN DOGS: No dog of <br /> fierce , dangerous or vicious propensities, and no female dog in <br /> heat , and no dog which habitually runs after or barks at persons or <br /> vehicles on the public streets , whether licensed or not, shall be <br /> allowed to run at large or upon the premises of one other than the <br /> owner. If any such dog is found running at large in violation of <br /> this provision, it shall. be taken up and impounded and shall not be <br /> released except upon approval of the pound master after payment of <br /> the fees provided in Section 9; Provided, however, that, if any <br /> dangerous, fierce , or vicious dog so found at large cannot be safely <br /> taken up and impounded, such dog may be slain by any policeman or <br /> pound master or assistant. <br /> Section 6: BARKING DOGS A NUISANCE: It shall be un- <br /> lawful for any person to own or keep any dog which barks, whines <br /> or howls in such a manner as to disturb the peace and quiet of <br /> persons in the neighborhood. Upon the conviction of the owner, <br /> such dog shall be impounded and destroyed. <br /> Section 7: RUNNING AT LARGE PROHIBITED DURING CERTAIN <br /> PERIODS: No owner or keeper of any dog shall permit such dog to <br /> run at large if unlicensed, nor shall a dog be permitted to run at <br /> large at any time between the hours of sunsent and sunrise, whether <br /> licensed or unlicensed. cHA1 C '' e i.r AsH 4'4`) 4 J0P,' " ay <br /> Section $: IMPOUNDING: The pound master or assistant <br /> and every police officer is authorized to apprehend any dog found <br /> running at large contrary to the provisions of Sections 4, 5, 7, 11, <br /> 12, and to impound such dog in the City pound or other suitable <br /> place. The pound master or assistant, upon receiving any dog, shall <br /> make a complete registry entering the breed, color, and sex of such <br /> dog, whether licensed or not. If licensed, he shall enter the name <br /> and address of the owner and the number of the license tag. Licensed <br /> dogs shall be separated from unlicensed dogs. <br /> Section 9: NOTICE TO OWNER AND REDEMPTION: Not later <br /> than twenty-four hours after the impounding of any dog, the owner <br /> - 2 - <br />
