• I I a M 1 <br /> the lawful custody and control thereof, at once to notify the pound <br /> master or police , and to release such animal to said city officer <br /> upon demand and without any charge. If there shall be attached to <br /> such animal a license tag for the then current year, said pound <br /> master shall notify the person to whom such license was issued at <br /> the address shown on the list of licenses in the office of the City <br /> Clerk. Provided, that if no person lawfully entitled to such animal <br /> shall, within forty-eight (48) hours after date of notifying such <br /> party or parties, lay claim upon such animal, such animal shall be <br /> regarded as an unlicensed animal and may be disposed of by said <br /> pound master or officer according to the then existing city <br /> Ordinance. <br /> Section 14: It shall be unlawful for any individual, <br /> person, firm or corporation to own or have in his or its possession <br /> four (4) or more dots without first having obtained a kennel license <br /> as hereinafter provided in addition to the license heretofore Iro- <br /> vided. Every individual , person, firm, or corporation desiring a <br /> kennel license as herein provided shall make application to the Clerk <br /> of the City of Everett setting forth in said application the number, <br /> breed, color and sex of each dog held by him or it , and the location <br /> of the said animals, and the location at which said animals will be <br /> housed within the City of Everett. The City Clerk shall then forward <br /> the application to the pound master who shall either approve or dis- <br /> approve the application for license. A pound master shall in no <br /> event approve said application for said license if it shall appear <br /> to him in his judgment that said animal shall in any way endanger <br /> the peace and tranquility of the City of Everett, or shall in any <br /> way be located in a district wherein such animals are prohibited <br /> by reason of the zoning ordinances of the City of Everett. In event <br /> that the pound master shall approve said application, a kennel <br /> license shall be issued by the City Clerk to said applicant upon <br /> the payment of the sum of One Hundred ( 100.00) Dollars. The <br /> decision of the pound master shall be final. <br /> The said license may be revoked by the pound master upon <br /> thirty (30) days' notice to the holder of the said license if it <br /> shall appear that the continuation of the license shall be detri- <br /> mental to the public welfare. In such event the license fee shall <br /> be remitted in proportion to the number of days the license remains <br /> unexpired. <br /> Section 15: It shall be unlawful for any owner to <br /> let run at large, or stake out or pasture, any domestic animal, <br /> including horses, cows, calves, colts, Bats or kids, or any other <br /> domestic animals, anywhere within the City limits of the City of <br /> Everett. <br /> Section 16: That the pound department is hereby <br /> transferred to the police department and shall be from the effective <br /> date of this ordinance a subdivision of the police department. The <br /> pound master shall hold office under the provisions of the Civil <br /> Service regulations of the City of Everett. <br /> Section 17: PENALTIES: Any owner found violating any <br /> provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and <br /> upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than <br /> Five ($5.00) Dollars nor more than Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars <br /> for such offense . <br /> - 4 - <br />
