Section 5: Every person who Shall hereinafter construct <br /> a septic tank, shall first secure from the plumbing inspector, upon <br /> the payment of the sum of 41.00, a permit to construct such septic <br /> tank in accordance with this ordinance. No person shall use any <br /> septic tank hereinafter constructed without first securing from the <br /> plumbing inspector a certificate of approval, which certificate of <br /> approval shall be issued by the plumbing inspector after notice of <br /> completion and inspection by the plumbing inspector, provided such <br /> installations comply with this ordinance. <br /> Section. 6: No new water connection shall be made or <br /> permitted by the City of Everett or by its Water Department or <br /> by any person to any house or building hereinafter constructed <br /> unless evidence of proper sewer connections to a public sanitary <br /> sewer is provided, or a certificate of approval of installation <br /> of septic tank is presented; and in event a water connection shall <br /> have been inadvertently made, the same shall be forthwith discon- <br /> nected upon order of the plumbing inspector until such requirements <br /> as above set forth have been complied with. <br /> Section 7: It shall be the duty of the City Health <br /> officer or his agents to assist the plumbing inspector in enforcing <br /> this ordinance and to report to the plumbing inspector any evidence <br /> of violation. <br /> Section 8: The existence of a privy is hereby declared <br /> to be a nuisance, dangerous, and a menace to public health, and <br /> the City of Everett shall have the power of authority to abate <br /> such nuisance in accordance with law. It shall be unlawful to have <br /> or maintain or use a privy. <br /> Section 9 All septic tanks heretofore constructed <br /> which do not meet with the requirements of this ordinance and are <br /> found by the plumbing inspector and/or his duly authorized agents, <br /> to be dangerous to the public health, shall forthwith upon notice <br /> served upon such owners or occupants in writing, be reconstructed <br /> to comply with the provisions of this ordinance within thirty days <br /> " of service of such notice. Notice required in this section shall <br /> be in substantially the following form: <br /> TO: , Owner or Occupant. • <br /> YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the plumbing <br /> inspector of Everett, a municipal corporation, does <br /> hereby find septic tank or tanks and appurtenances <br /> located on the following described property: <br /> (description) <br /> to be dangerous to the public health for the reason <br /> that such does not meet with the requirements of <br /> Ordinance No. of Everett, a municipal <br /> corporation. <br /> YOU ARE FURTHER HEREBY NOTIFIED to reconstruct <br /> said septic tank and appurtenances within thirty <br /> days from service of this notice or to disconnect <br /> said septic tank and appurtenances such that it shall <br /> no longer be used for the elimination of human excreta. <br /> Plumbing Inspector <br /> City of Everett <br /> -3- <br />
