1) Patio Drain does not drain with gravity but with a pump. In a overloaded sewer it's <br /> water could flood the basement. <br /> Solution: Run sump pump line near sidewalk for a gravity connection and void the sump <br /> pump. <br /> Solution: Install separate pump for just the patio drain and run to daylight in the <br /> backyard. <br /> Solution: Install manual valve to divert sump pump system in storm conditions discharge <br /> to yard. (gray water only!) <br /> As-Built of Sewer and Plumbing <br /> See attached drawing. <br /> Comments <br /> • All down spouts that are connected to the side sewer could be disconnected and <br /> routed to splash blocks so that less flow is in the side sewer causing potential <br /> surcharge events. Where downspouts are routed to splash blocks the ground <br /> surface should be sloped away from the house. <br /> • Installing a grinder pump would provide increased protection from sewer backups <br /> beyond the protection a backwater valve can provide. <br /> Additional Photos and Descriptions <br />
