I <br /> 1 other courses 0.35 feet <br /> 111 2 HMA Class %" 0.15 feet <br /> 3 <br /> I 4 On areas where irregularities or unavoidable obstacles make the use of mechanical <br /> 5 spreading and finishing equipment impractical, the paving may be done with other <br /> 6 equipment or by hand. <br /> I 7 <br /> 8 When more than one JMF is being utilized to produce HMA, the material produced for <br /> 9 each JMF shall be placed by separate spreading and compacting equipment. The <br /> I 10 intermingling of HMA produced from more than one JMF is prohibited. Each strip of HMA <br /> 11 placed during a work shift shall conform to a single JMF established for the class of HMA <br /> 12 specified unless there is a need to make an adjustment in the JMF. <br /> I 13 <br /> 14 5-04.3(8) Aggregate Acceptance Prior to Incorporation in HMA <br /> 15 For HMA accepted by nonstatistical evaluation the aggregate properties of sand <br /> I 16 equivalent, uncompacted void content and fracture will be evaluated in accordance with <br /> 17 Section 3-04. Sampling and testing of aggregates for HMA accepted by commercial <br /> 18 evaluation will be at the option of the Engineer. <br /> I 19 <br /> 20 5-04.3(8)A1 General <br /> 21 Nonstatistical evaluation shall be used for the acceptance of HMA for this project. <br /> I 22 <br /> 23 The Equivalent Single Axle Load (ESAL) for the mix design for the following area: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Seaway Blvd, Seaway Blvd Ramps, 75th St SW, 16th Ave W, and W Casino Rd — <br /> II 26 12,000,000.00 <br /> 27 Beverly Ln, Federal Ave, 100th St SE, 27th Ave SE, 23rd St, E Casino Rd, and the Alley <br /> a 28 —6,000,000.00 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 The mix design will be the initial JMF for the class of HMA. The contractor may request a <br /> 31 change in the JMF. Any adjustment to the JMF will require the approval of the Project <br /> 32 Engineer and may be made in accordance with Section 9-03.8(7). <br /> 33 <br /> I 34 5-04.3(9) HMA Mixture Acceptance <br /> 35 Acceptance of HMA shall be as provided under nonstatistical, or commercial evaluation. <br /> 36 <br /> I 37 Nonstatistical evaluation will be used for the acceptance of HMA unless Commercial <br /> 38 Evaluation is specified. <br /> 39 <br /> 111 40 Commercial evaluation will be used for Commercial HMA and for other classes of HMA <br /> 41 in the following applications: sidewalks, road approaches, ditches, slopes, paths, trails, <br /> 42 gores, prelevel, temporary pavement, and pavement repair. Other nonstructural <br /> I 43 applications of HMA accepted by commercial evaluation shall be as approved by the <br /> 44 Engineer.
