The anticipated annual value of the contract based <br />on past contract usage is approximately $314,773. <br /> <br />Project summary statement: <br />Public Works Traffic Engineering services requires a supplier for traffic signs, traffic sign blanks, sign <br />sheeting, traffic barricades, and additional products. The intent of the solicitation was to provide an ongoing <br />supply of these products to meet the City’s needs. <br />The Request for Quotation was sent to ten (10) suppliers and posted on the City website. Staff received two <br />(2) responses from National Barricade Co LLC and Zumar Industries, Inc. National Barricade provided pricing <br />for all products, while Zumar Industries only provided pricing for categories 4 and 5. <br />Per Section 1.8 of the solicitation, “After bids are received, the City will determine the method of award <br />based on the best interest of the City.” Although Zumar Industries provided lower pricing for categories 4 <br />and 5, it is in the City’s best interest for Traffic Engineering to award the contract to National Barricade <br />because they provided a significantly shorter lead time and can supply all products. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the award of Request for Quotation #2022-003 Traffic Signs, Blanks, Sheeting, Barricades, & <br />Related Products to National Barricade Co LLC for one (1) year with three (3) additional one-year extension <br />options for approximately $314,773 annually, including Washington state sales tax. <br />
