CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS
<br /> The unit contract price for Drain Assembly, shall constitute full compensation for all labor,
<br /> materials, tools and equipment necessary for the 6" HDPE low point blow off drain in
<br /> accordance with of the Contract Plans, including yet not limited to: street pavement;
<br /> furnishing, installing a fused tee, valve and valve stem extender, valve box, piping,
<br /> excavation, testing, line to manhole; fittings; coring and mortar work; backfill; compaction;
<br /> and dewatering.
<br /> Bid Item 14 - Discharge Assembly including DI Pipe for Force Main, 6" Diam.
<br /> Measure and Payment: Unit Price per Lump Sum (LS)
<br /> The unit contract price for Discharge Assembly including DI Pipe for Force Main, 6" Diam.,
<br /> shall constitute full compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to
<br /> transition from HDPE to DI pipe, complete force main with DI Pipe from that transition to and
<br /> including connection to an existing 20" DI sanitary sewer with a tapping sleeve, install an air
<br /> release/vacuum relief valve system and an access wye in a vault with a drain and side
<br /> sewer, all in accordance with the Contract Plans. Work includes the furnishment and
<br /> installation of pipe, fittings, restrained joints, air valve assembly and appurtenances, ladder
<br /> with safety post, cementitious waterproofing, floor drain assembly, ladder, a vault, manhole
<br /> cover assembly, trench and vault excavation, backfill, and compaction; vault foundation
<br /> material, internal piping and anchoring/support within the vault, p-trap, side sewer and
<br /> connection to existing sanitary sewer including Inserta-Tee and installation, testing,
<br /> excavation, backfill, compaction, and dewatering. Pavement restoration and imported fill
<br /> materials, other than foundation material per plan details, to be included in other bid items.
<br /> The work to complete the DI Pipe Force Main portion of this bid item shall include, but not
<br /> be limited to, the following:
<br /> 1. Removal of structures or obstructions not specifically covered under other bid items.
<br /> This shall include, but not be limited to, removal and disposal of the existing asphalt or
<br /> concrete pavement, sidewalk, curb, thrust blocks, miscellaneous landscaping, and sod
<br /> as indicated on the Plans.
<br /> 2. All required potholing to verify locations of water service crossings and existing utilities.
<br /> The costs for pot-holing and excavation required to determine exact depths and
<br /> locations of other utilities shall be included with this Work with no direct compensation
<br /> made.
<br /> 3. Utility or light pole holding in conformance with the requirements of the applicable utility
<br /> including, if necessary, arranging for the utility to hold poles and paying the associated
<br /> fees.
<br /> 4. Trench excavation, hauling of unsuitable material, dewatering, and installation of pipe.
<br /> No extra payment shall be made for removing, loading, hauling, and disposing of
<br /> displaced and unsuitable material.
<br /> 5. Maintenance, restoration and/or relocation, if required, of existing culverts, storm
<br /> drainage pipe, other utilities and structures affected by construction that are to remain.
<br /> 6. Temporary and permanent thrust blocking and dead man blocks, and temporary and
<br /> permanent restraint systems.
<br /> 7. Ethafoam pads or sand backfill between force main and other pipes.
<br /> 8. Pressure testing of all force mains and shall include providing temporary connections,
<br /> plugs, valves, fittings, and other such appurtenances to test the force main in
<br /> accordance with these specifications.
<br /> 9. Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to clear known
<br /> buried utilities or other known obstacles.
<br /> 11. Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the
<br /> Force Account item (Bid Item #23).
<br /> 12. Restoring pavement markings disturbed as a result of force main and related
<br /> construction.
