CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS
<br /> The unit contract price for HDPE Pipe for Sanitary Sewer Force Main, 6-Inch Diam., shall
<br /> constitute full compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to
<br /> furnish and install the pipe, restrained joints (where shown on the Plans or as required by
<br /> the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions), and all fittings, including tees, bends,
<br /> crosses, reducers, couplings, and sleeves required for complete installation along the run,
<br /> as shown on the Plans and specified herein, and additionally, shall include, but not be
<br /> limited to, the following:
<br /> 1. Removal of structures or obstructions not specifically covered under other bid items.
<br /> This shall include, but not be limited to, removal and disposal of the existing asphalt or
<br /> concrete pavement, sidewalk, curb, thrust blocks, miscellaneous landscaping, and sod
<br /> as indicated on the Plans.
<br /> 2. All required potholing to verify locations of water service crossings and existing utilities.
<br /> The costs for pot-holing and excavation required to determine exact depths and
<br /> locations of other utilities shall be included with this Work with no direct compensation
<br /> made.
<br /> 3. Utility or light pole holding in conformance with the requirements of the applicable utility
<br /> including, if necessary, arranging for the utility to hold poles and paying the associated
<br /> fees.
<br /> 4. Trench excavation, hauling of unsuitable material, dewatering, and installation of pipe.
<br /> No extra payment shall be made for removing, loading, hauling, and disposing of
<br /> displaced and unsuitable material.
<br /> 5. Maintenance, restoration and/or relocation, if required, of existing culverts, storm
<br /> drainage pipe, other utilities and structures affected by construction that are to remain.
<br /> 6. Temporary and permanent thrust blocking and dead man blocks, and temporary and
<br /> permanent restraint systems.
<br /> 7. Ethafoam pads or sand backfill between force main and other pipes.
<br /> 8. Pressure testing of all force mains and shall include providing temporary connections,
<br /> plugs, valves, fittings, and other such appurtenances to test the force main in
<br /> accordance with these specifications.
<br /> 9. Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to clear known
<br /> buried utilities or other known obstacles.
<br /> 11. Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the
<br /> Force Account item (Bid Item #23).
<br /> 12. Restoring pavement markings disturbed as a result of force main and related
<br /> construction.
<br /> Bid Item 12 - Air ReleaseNacuum Relief Valve Assembly
<br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Each (EA)
<br /> The unit contract price for Air Release/Vacuum Relief Valve Assembly, shall constitute full
<br /> compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to install an air
<br /> release/vacuum relief valve system in a vault with a drain in accordance with the Contract
<br /> Plans. Work includes the furnishment and installation of a vault, hatch with appurtenances,
<br /> hatch drain, ladder with safety post, cementitious waterproofing, fittings and stainless steel
<br /> piping from the force main to the vault, trench and vault excavation, backfill, and
<br /> compaction; vault foundation material, internal piping and anchoring/support within the
<br /> vault, floor drain and p-trap, side sewer and connection to existing manhole including core
<br /> drill, testing, restoration including seeding or sodding or gravel to match existing surface,
<br /> and dewatering. Pavement restoration and imported fill materials, other than foundation
<br /> material per plan details, to be included in other bid items.
